Jerome Powell is being investigated, and it’s about time

Can Trump finally bring the gravy train to a screeching halt?

During the Biden years, as inflation soared, Jerome Powell somehow said that inflation was transitory:

Powell flirts again with a dangerous way to describe inflation: ‘Transitory’

A fraught word resurfaced in the Federal Reserve’s lexicon again this week: ‘transitory.’

Yet somehow, he never blamed Biden’s energy policies (hundreds of billions in subsidies), open borders (hundreds of billions for various programs for illegals), or bureaucratic regulations, which all directly contributed to massive amounts spending, which in turn, created inflation when the Fed created the dollars needed for the bill.

One of the most ignorant things Powell ever said was that he didn’t believe the influx of millions of illegal immigrants was inflationary. How the heck would anyone believe flooding the country with millions of people who needed housing subsidies, food subsidies, school subsidies, health care subsidies, and everything else would not mean higher spending for a nation in debt? How can someone who thinks like that be responsible for setting interest rates?

Now we see that home and rent prices are coming down, except in sanctuary cities:

Trump Wins ‘Affordability’: Rents Drop for Americans Because of ICE Deportations

Two months before the 2024 election, Powell dropped rates by 50 basis points, despite inflation not hitting the target. That was essentially a campaign contribution to Democrats.

During Trump’s first year, we’re seeing energy prices rapidly drop, and other prices are stabilizing, yet Powell continually blocks lowering interest rates to a neutral level because he thinks, contrary to the evidence, that Trump’s policies are raising inflation. Powell is intentionally inflating the cost of owning houses by keeping interest rates higher than they should be, all part of his effort to sabotage Trump, at the cost of the American people.

Yes, clearly trying to sabotage Trump and clearly tried to prop up the Biden insanity.

This political hack sack of crap claims this investigation attacks the “independence” of the Fed. He’s as independent as Bernie Sanders. Another leftist lawyer in a job he has no qualifications for.

This is just a lot of distraction. Inflation is tied more closely to federal deficits than Federal Reserve policy. If Trump really wanted to reduce inflation he would veto a spending bill for once.

Yeah sure
Lay it all on Trump instead of Congress acting
wisely and responsibly in its role of developing the budget

What do you think that 6 week govt shutdown was about, other
than Trump backing the GOP to hold the line on spending?

Absent real knowledge, I will argue that time and cost over runs on a US Government building project are the result of actions by the General Services Agency that I believe owns all of the government buildings.

That is, Powell does not necessarily have control over the contract nor the contractor

No, the General Services Administration (GSA) does not operate the Federal Reserve’s main buildings; the Fed’s Board of Governors has custody and manages its own properties, including renovating the historic Eccles Building and the adjacent building GSA transferred to them in 2018.

While GSA manages many federal buildings, they transferred the South Interior Building (now FRB East) to the Federal Reserve to consolidate their operations and reduce leased space, putting the Fed in charge of its upkeep and modernization.

I never mentioned Congress because the article is all about Trump vs. Powell, dude. Congress isn’t even mentioned in the excerpt above.

Isn’t Powell’s term up soon? I heard Jan. 20, but I’m probably wrong.

Lol…except Powell testified about Congressional cost concerns over details of building features added to the grossly overbudget Taj Fed Reserve HQ…..and denied them.

Remember, he hasnt been charged …yet…he merely is being called to testify again. Let Judge Pirro determine what he knew and when.

Let’s meet a guy that cant or won’t oversee a single project renovation..,and make him the Fed Chairman.

Even Trump manages the nation and the world while almost daily walking through his privately funded WH ballroom project.
