In his recent viral essay, “The Lost Generation,” published in Compact, Jacob Savage describes how U.S. media and academia in the 2010s closed their doors to millennial white men. The self-righteous, racist ideology of diversity, equity and inclusion wasn’t a problem only within those rarified fields. It also infected the U.S. armed forces. Under President Biden, senior officers worked to make our military less white, precipitating a recruitment crisis.
During the first Trump administration, lethality was the military’s overriding focus. That changed in 2021. Mr. Biden issued an executive order embedding “diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility” across “all parts of the Federal workforce.” Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin took the unprecedented step of ordering a “stand-down” to combat “extremism” in the armed forces. By the time an independent report commissioned by the Pentagon found these concerns to be baseless, they had already formed the ideological permission structure for a DEI crusade.
In 2022, Gen. C.Q. Brown (later promoted to chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff) issued a memorandum that set numerical quotas for everyone from white males to Pacific Islander females among commissioned officer applicants to the Air Force. Racial discrimination likewise distorted admissions to the U.S. Naval Academy. Black applicants scoring in the fourth decile had an admission rate higher than that of whites in the eighth decile.
These stories could have come out of Mr. Savage’s essay, but the military isn’t the media. It requires young people to sign up for unglamorous and sometimes dangerous jobs far from home. By signaling that white men were less welcome, DEI initiatives pushed thousands of them away from military service.
Between 2013 and 2023, annual male enlistments in the Army fell 35%, from 58,000 to 37,700. From 2018 to 2023 the number of white Army recruits dropped from 44,042 to 25,070. No other groups...

DEI will cause you to DIE.
Nobody wants to sign up for that.
Rural and middle class white males make up the core of the military, especially combat positions.
Why join a military that stacks the deck against you because of gender and skin color? Or any organization, for that matter?
Top that off with Neocons and Democrats who hate you, why get yourself blown up for a foreign people who hate you? I did, and it was stupid of me. I signed up to defend the USA, not build up Trashganistan. The people there are not worth one drop of American blood.
Not just in Biden’s term - I retired at the end of the Obama administration and the senior ranks of the JAG Corps (Pentagon Colonels and Generals) were full of liberals who brought mandatory DEI and “white privilege” training to our Keystone conference starting circa 2011, taught by (wait for it) a tubby black woman with a chip on her shoulder.

You can say what you want about neocons ( the people most likely to use the term are marxists and surrenderjunkies) but it there is no truth to your comment that neocons hate military personnel. That is just false and doesn’t even make sense ideologically.
Cadets at USAFA were known to warn classmates about saying anything that was not politically correct. Let’s think about that.
It's only that it's gotten so bad that now they can't pretend it isn't happening anymore.
It's all good though because so-called Artificial Intelligence (AI), women, and illegal aliens can run the military. Best of luck to them.
No young male normally wants to be bossed and ordered around by a female, a homo or a tranny. Nor by a minority who was clearly promoted for race or being LGBT.
You can’t say it. But 18 year old males sign up because it seems macho and might impress the girls. The more feminized and gay you make the force, the more joining it to show the hometown that you’re a man becomes meaningless.
It’ll stay that way until we hit something like an early WWII situation where the nonsense was dumped immediately.
Otherwise known as Charlie Brown
Sorry that was badly written and through you off.
It should be: (1) neocons and (2) democrats who hate you.
And for the record, I am neither a Marxist, nor a surrender monkey.
I do, generally speaking, oppose foreign entanglements unless there is a direct benefit to the USA or our interests.
For example, I volunteered for Afghanistan deployment. Sought it out. I wanted to kill those who hurt us. However, our mission changed and rapidly became BS.
“Threw”. I hate my phone.
Are our sons going to fight so Russia can implement homosexual adoption of children? So Chinese schools can teach LGBT theology? So sodomites can inhabit the highest places of our nation?
There are other issues, but that's where it starts.
It was bad when I was a coastie. But still it got pretty debauched.
After that I worked for the state of California (CDF, now CalFire)and probably 50% of my time on the job it was forced classes telling us men are horrible. It was to the point that no man dared talk to, or interacted, with a woman. YET, when it came to the heavy lifting, we men were expected to bail out the damsels. The women were all promoted to BS “logistics” positions because they couldn’t handle the rigors of actual fire fighting. I can only imagine how bad it is in the higher ranks in the military. Who the heck wants to follow some degenerate tranny’s orders while he sits behind a desk?
In the middle 90s I had to work for a 5 foot tall 160 pound female chief who had never done the job she was supposed to be supervising. She had every opportunity to do the job but chose not to because it was stressful. Several much better qualified white males were passed over so she could get promoted. This stuff was going on long before DIE Brown and I believe it still goes on.
