After denouncing un-PC comics like Ricky Gervais, Rosie Jones has presented her advice on ‘how to joke responsibly’. Pay attention, bigots
---------
Rosie Jones spoke about her concerns regarding jokes made about transgender people by some well-known comedians. She said she was frustrated by what she described as “privileged cis white straight men” making jokes about “the trans community”, and named Ricky Gervais and Jimmy Carr in particular.
Jones said: “It’s your Ricky Gervaises and Jimmy Carrs… To those boys, I’d say, with respect, shut the f— up.”
She argued that comedians who do not share the experiences of the groups they joke about should reconsider whether they are the right people to be making those jokes. In her view, comedy should take greater account of identity, power and impact, particularly when dealing with marginalised communities. Alongside this criticism, Jones outlined what she described as advice on “how to joke responsibly”. She presented this not as a formal rulebook, but as a set of questions comedians should ask themselves before telling a joke.
The first question is about identity and experience. Comedians should consider who they are and whether they have “lived experience”, or experience close to them, of the subject they are joking about. Without that connection, she suggested, jokes risk missing context or causing harm, particularly when aimed at groups whose voices are often marginalised.
The second consideration she raised was intention. Jones said comedians should ask whether they are “punching up” or “punching down”.
The final question concerns purpose. Jones said comedians should think carefully about why they are telling a joke in the first place. She suggested that jokes can be used to “open up a conversation” or encourage audiences to think differently, rather than being told simply to provoke a reaction or generate controversy.

LOL I think she may be the one victimizing those pants! Ayeeeee
Since she does not have the “lived experience” of “privileged cis white straight men”, she needs to “shut the f— up.”
Rosie Jones? Isn’t she one of Rosie Palms sisters?
White people account for a scant 10% of the world population. (Though we admittedly "punch above our weight.")
Regards,
Once upon a time there was a guy, a guy and a guy. The bartender looks up and says, “Hey, is this supposed to be some kind of joke?”
Lemme guess, this woman is not funny at all.
Has there ever really been a funny woman comedienne?
I will make sophomoric comments about anybody, any time, any where.
Oh, and to the one who brought this idea forward, yo mama wears army boots!
I think todeal with this, Rosie Jones and those like her, must be joked about.

Vervains has been and is a leftist anyhow.
He helped create whatever he might whine about now.
E ery racial group racist. Every culture thinks its the best, and is racist towards the others ones around them.
,,, the LGBQTBBQ community has hijacked the word “gay” and they think they’ve got the patent rights on rainbows. Rosie needs to come to terms with authenticity deficits.
There are a few. But the newer ones just are even less funny. Its woke lectures and other stupid stuff.
Where is Sam Kinison when we really need him?

The horrible confession I need to make is that as a kid, I had a pair of the exact circus pants made infamous by Hitlery.
My mom made me wear them.
Praying Mantis comes to mind.
She is also very attractive.
