I need only two melodies:
“Marine Corps Hymn” and
“Hail To The Redskins”...

[snip] The original 78rpm single was issued on Gennett 6311 - Stardust (Carmichael) by Hoagy Carmichael & His Pals, recorded in Richmond, Ind. October 31, 1927. One of the most-performed and recorded songs in American history, presented in its original commercially-released form as a mid-tempo jazz instrumental (Mitchell Parish's lyrics weren't added until 1929). Carmichael would record the tune several more times over the years at the more familiar slower tempo. [/snip]

The versions of "As Time Goes By" as sung by Rudy Vallee and Binnie Hale include the verse, which notes that despite changes in technology, human nature remains the same, one of the basic tenets of conservative thought.

This upbeat version is by the prolific band leader Ben Selvin, who waxed it under a pseudonym.

In 1979, I was riding the Metro through Washington, DC, when everyone began to sing, "Hail to the Redskins." By contrast, no one knows the theme of my NFL team, the LA Rams, which sounds like the theme of a TV game show and has no lyrics.

AI will be (or maybe has been) used to fabricate perhaps interesting collabs between various dead artists, like a duet of Bing and Vallee, with accompaniment by Hoagy. But we shouldn’t gave people ideas...
