NEW ORLEANS -- Lucas Carneiro kicked a 47-yard field goal in the closing seconds, and the Ole Miss Rebels defeated the Georgia Bulldogs, 39-34, in the Sugar Bowl, securing a berth in the College Football Playoff semifinals.
Ole Miss advances to play the 12-2 Miami Hurricanes in a CFP semifinal at the Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 8. Miami, the No. 10 seed in the playoff, secured its final four berth with a win over No. 2 seed Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl on New Year's Eve, and has won two games in the CFP this season.

Former Ole Miss Coach Lane Kiffin attended LSU women's basketball game...
Booooooo!
But Ole Miss simply outplayed the Dawgs. UGA needs to clean on several areas. We’ll be strong next year.
Miami/Ole Miss will be fun to watch.
But I think Indiana wins it all.
Lane Kiffin
Great coach but not a very good person
Class 1981
They surprised me
They are similar to Miami style of play
We’ll see
Ironically I was season ticket holder Miami 87-89 at the old steel close to the field orange bowl off sw 8th st
Saw them under notre dame there
Convicted versus Catholics lore
Man those afternoon games were hot
Missed it. Fell asleep watching Alabama lose. How did my draft crush do? Suntarine Perkins #4 Ole Miss.
Great game! Two well matched teams.
Worst trick play ever and strangest last play ever.
Looked like they were both trying to lose.
Go Oregon
I also fell asleep watching the Alabama game...I woke up and Fernando Mendoza was on TV, discussing the Indiana victory...
Indiana will be playing Oregon, but I’m going with Indiana.
Would be funny as hell if Ole Miss won the natty, got an invite to the White House and the Rebs told Kiffin he wasn’t invited to the ceremony. Priceless.
Kifflin didn’t coach tonight as he already left for LSU. Holding coached.
Aw, dang! I’m watching it right now but am backed up nearly an hour, so there’s only about one minute left, with Ole Miss leading by three and Georgia near the goal line. Just happened to see the spoiler headline here. Well, I’m glad to know Ole Miss won. Now to finish the last 1:04!
Golding.
I know it was a typo, but Golding coached Ole Miss, and did a heckuva job.
Sorry, I should’ve reloaded the page before posting.
Looks like you could flip a coin for all 4 teams, but I have been a Duck all my life and somehow they are going to win it. You have to go with the Caucasian Collision Unit.
Lane Kiffin has to be excited. He gets a $500,000 bonus for Ole Miss winning tonight. He got $250,000 for the last one...lol.
Trinidad Chambliss played with inspiration. I’ve never seen anything like that. It was a beautiful thing.
He gave all the glory to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Love it!
(IU QB Fernando Mendoza did also. I sense a theme.)
The Raiders will probably get the #1 draft pick. They need a QB and an offensive line to protect him. I think Ole Miss QB Trinidad Chambliss is way underated. He probably will not be picked until the 3rd or 4th round. The Raiders would be smart to trade down. Pick up a few offensive lineman and then Trinidad Chambliss.
With Lane they lost to UGA.
Without Lane they beat UGA.
