Leck mich im Arsch (literally "Lick me in the arse") is a canon in B-flat major composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, K. 231 (K. 382c), with lyrics in German. It was one of a set of at least six canons probably written in Vienna in 1782. Sung by six voices as a three-part round, it is thought to be a party piece for his friends. A literal translation of the song's title and lyrics into English would be "Lick me in the arse". A more idiomatic translation would be "Kiss my arse!" Mozart died in 1791 and his widow, Constanze Mozart, sent the manuscripts of the canons to publishers Breitkopf & Härtel in 1799, saying that they would need to be adapted for publication. The publisher changed the title and lyrics of this canon to the more acceptable "Laßt froh uns sein" ("Let us be glad!"), similar to the traditional German Christmas carol, "Lasst uns froh und munter sein". Of Mozart's original text, only the first words were documented in Breitkopf publishers' catalogue of his works. A new text version, which may have been the authentic one, came to light in 1991. Handwritten texts to this and several other similar canons were found added to a printed score of the work in an historical printed edition acquired by Harvard University's Music Library. They had evidently been added to the book by a later hand. However, since in six of the pieces these entries matched texts that had, in the meantime, independently come to light in original manuscripts, it was hypothesised that the remaining three may, too, have been original, including texts for K. 231 ("Leck mich im Arsch" itself), and another Mozart work, "Leck mir den Arsch fein recht schön sauber" ("Lick my arse nice and clean", K. 233; K. 382d in the revised numbering). Later research has indicated that the latter composition is probably the work of Wenzel Trnka (1739--91).

I was seven years old when my father asked me to help him in the garden. I worked as hard as I could and was richly rewarded when father kissed me, saying: “Thanks, son, you did very well.” It was the first praise I consciously received in my life. It made me happy and proud. After many decades, my father’s words still ring in my ears.

When in 1953 I made my first orchestral recording for the Deutsche Gramophone Company, I played Liszt’s two piano concertos, accompanied by the Berlin Philharmonic, one of the finest orchestras in the world. The first concerto, a childhood acquaintance, was finished in a jiffy. On the next day, the second work did not go as smoothly. I had learned Liszt’s No. 2 piano concerto only shortly before the recording session and was jittery. We had to go over a particularly difficult passage again and again.

After a while one member of the orchestra rose and turned to me, saying: “Mr. Foldes, don’t worry. You have done extremely well in the first work; there is no need for you to be nervous. We admire you.” I started to play the same passage again and carried it off without a hitch.

At 16, in the midst of a personal crisis arising from differences with my music teacher, I met Emil von Sauer, Liszt’s last living pupil, who paid yearly visits to Budapest. His adoring public feted the grand old pianist with his leonine white mane like a semi-god. One of the city’s prominent music patrons asked me for tea to meet this idol, and my elation was boundless.

Sauer divined the real purpose of my presence and asked me to play something for him. I sat down at the piano and launched into Bach’s Toccata in C major. He listened intently and asked for more. I suggested a Beethoven sonata. He nodded his approval and I put all my heart into playing the Pathétique. When I had finished this word, he ordered me to play on. I continued with Schumann’s Papillons. Finally, he rose and kissed me on my forehead.

“My son,” he said, “when I was your age I became a student of Liszt. He kissed me on my forehead after my first lesson, saying, ‘Take good care of this kiss - it comes from Beethoven, who gave it to me after hearing me play when I was your age.’ I waited for years to pass on this sacred heritage, but now I feel you deserve it.”

Nothing in my life has meant as much to me as Sauer’s praise. His kiss lifted me miraculously out of my crisis, I might not have become the pianist I am today without Sauer’s encouragement.

Just recently, when giving a master class for young pianists, I felt that one of the youthful artists could do even better if given a small pat on the back. I singled out the one thing he did best and praised him for it before the whole class. His eyes began to glow, and almost immediately he outdid himself-to his own amazement and that of the class. A few words brought out the best in him.

Praise is a potent, driving force. It lights a small candle in a dark room and its glow begins to fill the space around us. This is magic, and I marvel that it always works.

I have heard of those pieces. I almost wish I hadn’t, but that is a bell that can never be unrung.

The inspiration behind those compositions serves to remind me no matter how grand and brilliantly elaborate the artist’s work appears, when all is said and done, he is but a flawed human being just like yourself.
He is someone capable of both the sublime and the ridiculous.

Sometimes, such vulgarities maybe an attempt to achieve some kind of essential balance. Mozarts music portrays a great amount of balance, symmetry, harmony and logical chord progressions. Perhaps his ugly little jokes were a way to lighten up, a way to allow a showcase for the unbalanced,the asymmetry and dischord.

Salvador Dali, an extreme Master of precision, order and attention to detail, had some of the same fixations.

One of the comments on the YouTube channel reads: "can't spell classical without ass."

Mozart has his bawdy side, but the Requiem is sublime beyond the sublime. We are all and individually many things and of many sides. Thanks for posting this.

This album is one of the best of the decade. Love to Love is one of the most epic songs ever written. I have no idea why these gents never took off in America as much as they should have. This is a super natural sounding, very thick album with a massive sounding snare. I love albums like this as they let you play around a bit without losing the punch. I think my attempt to modernize this one worked out really well, mostly because the original is so big. Support an awesome band and buy some of their music!

7:05 · state level so you know imagine if
7:07 · another state that isn't as red as
7:09 · Florida did that you know the national
7:11 · Spotlight kind of makes States not want
7:15 · to take it on because it is an uphill
7:16 · battle when you know the actual National
7:18 · media get involved in the conversation
7:21 · when I think think about this stuff it
7:23 · makes me very very optimistic because I
7:25 · kind of feel like we're actually coming
7:28 · out of the crisis period the stuff that
7:30 · we're seeing and people waking up and
7:32 · people saying homeschool your kids
7:33 · homeschooling your kids is literally
7:35 · what you were supposed to be doing what
7:37 · humans have always done the kids were
7:38 · learning from their parents and then we
7:41 · got to a point where we had schools I
7:42 · know that we've had school houses for a
7:43 · very very long time hundreds of years
7:44 · but we got to the point where everything
7:46 · became heavily institutionalized and
7:48 · then parents started not caring about
7:50 · what their kids were learning the
7:52 · culture started to fragment and then you
7:54 · had kids learning weird things and now
7:55 · we're at the worst point of it where you
7:57 · got these books like genderqueer and
8:00 · this book is gay which is like Kink
8:02 · education for children which should not
8:04 · be in these schools but now people are
8:06 · starting to reverse course and it's
8:08 · almost like the pendulum swung back and
8:09 · it's starting to go back the other
8:10 · direction like people are starting to
8:12 · say yeah we shouldn't have this for our
8:14 · kids and if we start implementing pod
8:16 · learning across the board then the
8:18 · future looks pretty bright
8:20 · it's also been the economy because you
8:22 · had in the 1950s you had one parent that
8:24 · could stay at the house with the
8:26 · children well and you know it was one
8:28 · salary you could pay for a nice house
8:29 · and a nice safe neighborhood now you
8:31 · have many single-parent households and
8:34 · if they're two parent households usually
8:35 · both parents are working so these
8:37 · children have
8:38 · you know they don't have that parent
8:40 · around all the time they're they're sent
8:42 · to public school because it's daycare
8:44 · you know yeah and so that's that's what
8:46 · it's become the date the fact that the
8:48 · fact that public school has become
8:49 · daycare as opposed to an actual place
8:53 · for kids to go and learn stuff is is
8:56 · probably the biggest problem the United
8:58 · States is facing the fact that parents
9:01 · aren't involved in their kids lives I
9:04 · think that that's not just about the
9:06 · whole woke thing but like there's a lot
9:08 · of crime problems that come from that
9:10 · you know kids that don't have families
9:12 · that whether they be you know whatever
9:14 · you consider a family like I don't have
9:17 · a big strong has to be a dad has to be a
9:20 · mom I I think that it's okay if you have
9:22 · two moms or two dads I personally I
9:25 · think it's fine but you have to have a
9:28 · masculine and a feminine kind of parent
9:32 · or those roles have to be filled somehow
9:35 · and kids aren't getting that you
9:37 · certainly don't get it from a single mom
9:39 · and I understand there's a lot of single
9:41 · moms out there busting their hump but
9:43 · it's not easy the the media has lied to
9:46 · single mothers tell them that they can
9:48 · be a single mother and a CEO of Fortune
9:51 · 500 company you know and that's you just
9:53 · can't you there's no way you're gonna
9:55 · have time for both your kids deserve way
9:58 · more time than what you could give if
10:01 · you're working full-time so I think the
10:04 · problem the biggest problems that we
10:06 · have are the fact that there aren't
10:07 · people you know or that parents aren't
10:10 · raising their kids probably they're
10:12 · sending them off to school and not
10:14 · taking them to work with them and and to
10:17 · teach them to do stuff so hmm
10:20 · that's my my opinion about the biggest
10:22 · problems is just schools yeah but I
10:24 · think we're taking it back I think the
10:26 · covid thing triggered something
10:28 · accidentally that's freaking out the
10:30 · left and that parents got to actually
10:32 · hear what their kids were being told for
10:33 · the first time basically ever
10:36 · when I hear about these stories out of
10:37 · West Virginia
10:38 · parents say like my kid came home and
10:40 · started saying weird stuff you know
10:42 · talking about pan pan sexual and gender
10:44 · stuff and then they're like what's
10:45 · what's going on they're finally now
10:47 · realizing it but it's too late these P

10:51 · got brought to the school boards they
10:52 · infiltrated but people are waking up to
10:54 · it and it's causing a shift finally
10:56 · people are going to be are saying and
10:58 · where it used to be well look you know

2:25	·	be a part of this and I ended up leaving
2:26	·	but it's hard to stay in a position like
2:30	·	that when the people in control are
2:31	·	pushing that I think I think this
2:34	·	started with public schooling I think
2:37	·	about why it is that so many why does
2:39	·	gen Z not want to work
2:41	·	there was a story I saw the other day
2:42	·	and it said gen Z doesn't want to work
2:44	·	poll shows but and I'm like okay what
2:47	·	does work mean seriously what is what
2:49	·	does work refer to I wake up every day I
2:51	·	work like 16 hours every single thing I
2:53	·	do is work and it's fun I'm having fun
2:55	·	everything I'm doing is in the is in the
2:58	·	pursuit of some kind of work we go
2:59	·	skateboarding it's like yeah we're
3:01	·	filming videos we're launching a show
3:02	·	we're going to be setting up a park
3:04	·	we're going to be making things for
3:05	·	people to enjoy and to consume and to be
3:07	·	inspired by
3:09	·	these younger people
3:11	·	and it's not just younger people but
3:12	·	it's in case it's it's increasing with
3:14	·	the generations don't want to do
3:16	·	anything
3:18	·	they are nihilistic not all of them I'm
3:20	·	not saying everybody but there's a lot
3:21	·	of more nihilistic they want to lay
3:22	·	around they don't even want to read
3:24	·	books they don't want to watch TV they
3:25	·	want to watch movies they might just put
3:27	·	on the office on Netflix and just sit

3:29	·	what happened where people I'll tell you

3:32	·	here's how it used to be
3:34	·	dad wakes up and uh he goes all right
3:37	·	son off to work come on and he'd bring
3:39	·	his kid with him to his you know wood
3:41	·	shop or whatever and this is hundreds of
3:42	·	years ago and he would show his son what
3:44	·	he did and his son would be there and
3:46	·	he'd be like go grab the tools from the
3:47	·	shed and then the kid will watch him do
3:49	·	it as the kid got older the kid would
3:51	·	get more responsibility from his dad and
3:52	·	then when the dad was old and was like I
3:54	·	can't do this job anymore the kid would
3:55	·	be like don't worry Dad I'll keep the
3:56	·	the shot running and then you get this
3:58	·	like seven generation you know
4:01	·	woodworking thing and it becomes a big
4:03	·	company inherited all the kids learning
4:05	·	the whole way and then at some point we
4:06	·	said I got an idea let's take the kids
4:08	·	away from their parents so they don't
4:10	·	learn put them in an institutionalized
4:11	·	learning facility for general education
4:13	·	separating them from their parents
4:16	·	and then they don't work
4:17	·	when they're in school they learn
4:19	·	General stuff they play
4:21	·	they take tests well if you take a kid
4:23	·	and their development is tests guess
4:25	·	what they're going to be good at when
4:26	·	they're older reading books and taking
4:27	·	tests yeah and then they turn into
4:29	·	career students too because it's like
4:31	·	you're almost expected to go to college
4:33	·	out of high school without even knowing
4:35	·	what you're going to college for and
4:37	·	then once you're in college and you're
4:39	·	halfway through you're like I don't know
4:40	·	what I'm gonna do still and then it's
4:42	·	like okay I'm gonna get another degree
4:44	·	and another degree and they become
4:45	·	career students and they're actually
4:47	·	learning nothing of value and just
4:49	·	obtaining a ton of debt yeah exactly but
4:51	·	they'll never be able to crawl out of
4:53	·	I'll tell you what I did when I was a
4:54	·	little kid
4:55	·	since I was alive my family had
4:57	·	computers I guess I had like my uncle
4:59	·	was into it my mom got a computer we had
5:01	·	like two a floppy disks we had
5:03	·	CompuServe on dos shell or dos and dos
5:05	·	shell eventually we had dos games so I'm
5:08	·	always using computers we had the
5:10	·	internet my whole life I'm on AOL I'm on
5:12	·	CompuServe and AOL I'm a little kid
5:13	·	parental restrictions and stuff but I'm
5:16	·	I'm you know browsing the internet
5:17	·	eventually I'm downloading programs I
5:20	·	start reading news articles I used to go
5:22	·	to farc.com all the time do you guys
5:23	·	remember farting yeah yeah that was good
5:25	·	fun
5:26	·	man I was probably like 13 when I'm
5:28	·	reading these news stories all of a
5:30	·	sudden there I am skating with my
5:31	·	friends but having read the news all day
5:33	·	and then we would be talking about the
5:34	·	stuff and I'd be like oh yeah I read
5:36	·	this story and I was well here I am as
5:37	·	an adult quite literally doing very much
5:39	·	the exact same thing I've always done
5:42	·	and I look at what's happening now at
5:43	·	the younger generation and what what
5:45	·	they're being taught the moment we
5:48	·	separated kids from their parents that
5:50	·	was when the roots were cut and you you
5:52	·	created this domino effect of parents
5:55	·	who don't teach their kids who have kids
5:57	·	who don't teach their kids who have kids
5:58	·	who don't teach their kids and then
6:00	·	after a few Generations
6:01	·	it all just crumbles and now you've got
6:04	·	comedians laughing being like gen Z's so
6:06	·	incompetent I'm like you're the ones who
6:07	·	are supposed to have passed on the
6:09	·	knowledge and capabilities to gen Z they
6:10	·	didn't do it they've all just said it's
6:13	·	someone else's responsibility and what
6:15	·	we're seeing now is the worst of it
6:16	·	where these teachers are trying to
6:18	·	indoctrinate kids with this weird
6:19	·	groomer stuff
6:21	·	yeah for sure and then the thing too
6:23	·	about like what you mentioned about not
6:24	·	enough states fighting a bat fighting
6:26	·	back against you know the education
6:27	·	system doing that uh you saw the
6:29	·	backlash in Florida there was a national
6:32	·	campaign almost a smear that don't say
6:34	·	gay bill when in actuality it was you
6:37	·	know the parental rights and education
6:38	·	exactly and they kept saying the
6:40	·	so-called don't say gay Bill to discur
6:42	·	responsibility but you had people like
6:45	·	saying oh Ron DeSantis called it this
6:47	·	it's like well no it wasn't actually his
6:49	·	legislation and then also the reality of
6:51	·	it it's like you can't like teach
6:54	·	toddlers like sexual education and you
6:57	·	know without their parents consent it's
6:59	·	like that was the actual you know Bill
7:01	·	and there was a national conversation
7:03	·	against it and that was just like at a
7:05	·	state level so you know imagine if
7:07	·	another state that isn't as red as
7:09	·	Florida did that you know the national
7:11	·	Spotlight kind of makes States not want
7:15	·	to take it on because it is an uphill
7:16	·	battle when you know the actual National
7:18	·	media get involved in the conversation
7:21	·	when I think think about this stuff it
7:23	·	makes me very very optimistic because I
7:25	·	kind of feel like we're actually coming
7:28	·	out of the crisis period the stuff that
7:30	·	we're seeing and people waking up and
7:32	·	people saying homeschool your kids
7:33	·	homeschooling your kids is literally
7:35	·	what you were supposed to be doing what
7:37	·	humans have always done the kids were
7:38	·	learning from their parents and then we
7:41	·	got to a point where we had schools I
7:42	·	know that we've had school houses for a
7:43	·	very very long time hundreds of years
7:44	·	but we got to the point where everything
7:46	·	became heavily institutionalized and
7:48	·	then parents started not caring about
7:50	·	what their kids were learning the
7:52	·	culture started to fragment and then you
7:54	·	had kids learning weird things and now
7:55	·	we're at the worst point of it where you
7:57	·	got these books like genderqueer and
8:00	·	this book is gay which is like Kink
8:02	·	education for children which should not
8:04	·	be in these schools but now people are
8:06	·	starting to reverse course and it's
8:08	·	almost like the pendulum swung back and
8:09	·	it's starting to go back the other
8:10	·	direction like people are starting to
8:12	·	say yeah we shouldn't have this for our
8:14	·	kids and if we start implementing pod
8:16	·	learning across the board then the
8:18	·	future looks pretty bright
8:20	·	it's also been the economy because you
8:22	·	had in the 1950s you had one parent that
8:24	·	could stay at the house with the
8:26	·	children well and you know it was one
8:28	·	salary you could pay for a nice house
8:29	·	and a nice safe neighborhood now you
8:31	·	have many single-parent households and
8:34	·	if they're two parent households usually
8:35	·	both parents are working so these
8:37	·	children have
8:38	·	you know they don't have that parent
8:40	·	around all the time they're they're sent
8:42	·	to public school because it's daycare
8:44	·	you know yeah and so that's that's what
8:46	·	it's become the date the fact that the
8:48	·	fact that public school has become
8:49	·	daycare as opposed to an actual place
8:53	·	for kids to go and learn stuff is is
8:56	·	probably the biggest problem the United
8:58	·	States is facing the fact that parents
9:01	·	aren't involved in their kids lives I
9:04	·	think that that's not just about the
9:06	·	whole woke thing but like there's a lot
9:08	·	of crime problems that come from that
9:10	·	you know kids that don't have families
9:12	·	that whether they be you know whatever
9:14	·	you consider a family like I don't have
9:17	·	a big strong has to be a dad has to be a
9:20	·	mom I I think that it's okay if you have
9:22	·	two moms or two dads I personally I
9:25	·	think it's fine but you have to have a
9:28	·	masculine and a feminine kind of parent
9:32	·	or those roles have to be filled somehow
9:35	·	and kids aren't getting that you
9:37	·	certainly don't get it from a single mom
9:39	·	and I understand there's a lot of single
9:41	·	moms out there busting their hump but
9:43	·	it's not easy the the media has lied to
9:46	·	single mothers tell them that they can
9:48	·	be a single mother and a CEO of Fortune
9:51	·	500 company you know and that's you just
9:53	·	can't you there's no way you're gonna
9:55	·	have time for both your kids deserve way
9:58	·	more time than what you could give if
10:01	·	you're working full-time so I think the
10:04	·	problem the biggest problems that we
10:06	·	have are the fact that there aren't
10:07	·	people you know or that parents aren't
10:10	·	raising their kids probably they're
10:12	·	sending them off to school and not
10:14	·	taking them to work with them and and to
10:17	·	teach them to do stuff so hmm
10:20	·	that's my my opinion about the biggest
10:22	·	problems is just schools yeah but I
10:24	·	think we're taking it back I think the
10:26	·	covid thing triggered something
10:28	·	accidentally that's freaking out the
10:30	·	left and that parents got to actually
10:32	·	hear what their kids were being told for

1:42	·	some of them we laugh at and like that

1:46	·	some of them it will just be negative
1:49	·	press the Democrats are going to Rally
1:50	·	around but the Kanye West leaks showed
1:53	·	that they did edit out certain comments
1:55	·	that perhaps they thought would be
1:57	·	offensive so either way I don't know the
2:00	·	Media Matters ones were all hilarious

2:07	·	Matters looks like a deep fake
2:08	·	unfortunately but I don't know nowadays

3:25	·	be the audio leaks obviously like the
3:28	·	video ones are kind of easy to tell but
3:30	·	like say if there's leaked audio and
3:31	·	they claim it's leak audio from like a
3:33	·	fundraising event like you know the
3:34	·	DeSantis thing uh someone could claim
3:37	·	that it was leaked audio and then you
3:38	·	know a year from now you might not know
3:40	·	if it's actually real yeah so uh this
3:43	·	was last year
3:44	·	I used I think it was
3:47	·	um I don't even remember the name of the
3:48	·	AI I made AI generated images of trump
3:51	·	Biden and Pelosi and they were grotesque
3:53	·	looking and very fake and uh posted them
3:56	·	to Twitter so they're on my Twitter
3:57	·	somewhere today when you go to
3:59	·	mid-journey and and type in Trump you
4:01	·	get the it's it's real it's it's there's
4:04	·	no way to tell it's not it's crazy I
4:07	·	mean they've tried they're probably uh
4:09	·	as you're mentioning some some software
4:11	·	probably could drag it down but I want
4:13	·	to read this though in the story that's
4:14	·	interesting they mentioned that this guy
4:16	·	Burke who's who's being rated that he's
4:18	·	worked for Deadspin and The Daily Beast
4:20	·	and then there's something interesting I
4:22	·	see in the story they say in a legal
4:24	·	letter published in Media Matters
4:25	·	earlier this month Fox asked the group
4:27	·	not to publish the to stop publishing
4:28	·	this footage the latter doesn't address
4:30	·	how they got it but it says the network
4:32	·	did not consent to its distribution or
4:34	·	publication according to a copy of
4:35	·	letter obtained by Daily Mail uh this is
4:38	·	copyright infringement
4:40	·	that's the that's the weirdest thing
4:41	·	about this they're publishing these
4:42	·	leaked videos of Tucker Carlson but I'm
4:44	·	just like
4:45	·	uh if we record something in the studio
4:47	·	it's our copyrighted material for us to
4:50	·	distribute and sell if someone steals
4:51	·	that and then starts Distributing it
4:53	·	they are stealing that's piracy how is
4:55	·	how is Fox not going after him and said

9:45	·	see in this Tucker Carlson story or the
9:47	·	uh the raid stories is they were just
9:49	·	trying to get more information I guess
9:52	·	we're trying to pick up stuff I don't
9:53	·	think they even they didn't arrest him
9:54	·	right and they just raided his house for
9:56	·	for I mean we don't rightly know exactly
