The late Jim Steinman, and his front man Meat Loaf, have never been big faves, and neither has the host of this linked show, but the Huckaboob has a hell of a house band, and they really captured the typically bombastic spirit of a JS composition. And, they had a small army of background singers, a necessity for Meat Loaf in his dotage.
Meat Loaf performs "Out of the Frying Pan (And Into the Fire)" live on the Huckabee show. Don't miss this performance by this rock n roll legend!

In 1929, when the concert pianist Emil von Sauer was advanced in age, he traveled to Budapest. While there, he listened to a gifted 16-year-old pianist. After the performance, von Sauer walked over to him and kissed him on the forehead. He said, "My son, when I was your age I became a student of Liszt. He kissed me on the forehead after my first lesson, saying, 'Take good care of this kiss, it comes from Beethoven, who gave it to me after hearing me play.' I have waited for years to pass on this sacred heritage but now I feel you deserve it." The boy was Andor Foldes who became one of the greatest classical pianists of the twentieth century.

This song by "The Avon's" was released in 1959.The Avons were a British pop vocal group. Originally composed of Valerie Murtagh (born 1936, Willesden, London) and Elaine Murtagh, (born 1940, County Cork, Eire) and known as 'The Avon Sisters', they added Raymond S. Adams (born 1938, Jersey, Channel Islands), and changed their name to 'The Avons'.

Cartoons were the start of my love for classical music.

My grandparents had a baby grand player piano (now at my mom’s house). They had hundreds of player rolls...was privileged to “watch” Paderewski play Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2....the very best piano rendition ever IMHO. Also “saw” Gershwin playing Rhapsody in Blue. Mind blowing!

The time index is set to just before the song starts. I believe this is the show they did in or near DC in 1977 (Hotel Cali tour).

There used to be comic book versions of classic literature (as recalled for the movie "Major League") and historical events and such. And Bugs did that "Be It Ever So Crumbly" parody of "No Place Like Home", another time did some Rachmani(sp?) riffs etc. Good times, good times.
The Mukluk Bop song from "Chiller Dillers" was used by the theater (I guess) before and after the movie "What's Up, Doc?" that I saw as a kid. It was at a twin theater, the other screen was, hilariously in retrospect, showing "A Clockwork Orange".

Valentina Lisitsa does a really good version of Liszt’s HR #2.

She also does Beethoven’s Presto Digitato VERY well.

I stumbled on this the other day.

This is a group from Korea called Maytree, who do the most amazing a capella versions of practically anything.

This is their Tom & Jerry version.

(and of course being from Korea they already did their tribute to The Squid Game)
