PHOENIX, AZ — Following her surprising appearance onstage with Erika Kirk at Turning Point USA's AmFest, rapper Nicki Minaj revealed that her hit song "Anaconda" was actually about how the federal government needs to reduce deficit spending.
The music superstar caused a stir throughout social media and entertainment circles by not only taking the stage at a prominent conservative event but also explaining that the true meaning behind one of her most popular tracks was a right-wing rant against big government.
"It's right there in the lyrics, plain as day," Minaj told several confused conservative journalists after she shut down AmFest. "I was first inspired to write this song in 2011 after the deficit hit $1.3 trillion and Congress responded by arguing about continuing resolutions instead of resolving anything. I was outraged, I'll tell you what. You'll notice the chorus repeats with no new informational content, the way Congress reauthorizes spending using last year's baseline plus inflation every single year. I filled the track with samples that loop endlessly with no end in sight, like interest payments on treasury bonds. I made billions on that song, which is enough to fund our bloated bureaucracy for about 5 minutes."
"F'real, y'all. Miss me with all that tax-and-spend liberalism."
Music fans were surprised that they had never seen the song's hidden origins before. "It's totally obvious once you know what to look for," said Nicki Minaj fan Lacy Thigpen. "I mean, ‘Little in the middle but she got much back' is clearly a reference to the decline of the middle class and the heavy tax burden the government places on the populace. And when Nicki keeps saying, ‘Oh my gosh, look at her butt,' she's shocked by the size of the national debt. It's genius."
At publishing time, Minaj had reportedly received a call from President Donald Trump about potentially joining the cabinet as a special economic advisor.

My anaconda don't, my anaconda don'tThere's no mistaking that economic wisdom.
My anaconda don't want none unless you got buns, hun
Oh my gosh, look at her butt
Oh my gosh, look at her butt
And though the past has its share of injustice
Kind was the spirit in many a way
But it’s protectors and friends have been sleeping
Now it’s a monster and will not obey
If you have to tell people what your song means...you didn’t do it right.
Careful. Stef Diggs thought it was about him.
