President Donald Trump said filmmaker and actor Rob Reiner died from "Trump derangement syndrome."
Reiner and his wife were found dead in their Los Angeles home on Sunday, and police are investigating the circumstances as an apparent homicide, authorities said.
"A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
"Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS."
Trump said Reiner suffered from paranoia.
"He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before. May Rob and Michele rest in peace!" he added.
Reiner, 78, was a prominent Hollywood director and actor known for films including "When Harry Met Sally," "The Princess Bride," "Stand by Me," and "A Few Good Men."
He had been an outspoken critic of Trump for years, frequently posting political commentary on social media.
LAPD patrol officers dispatched to Reiner's home late Sunday afternoon discovered two bodies inside the residence. Emergency personnel had first responded to a call for medical aid, a city fire department official said.

I detested Reiner’s vendetta against Trump, but I take no joy from a tragedy.
Interesting position, that a destructive, back stabbing, society and civilization damaging, uncivil person like Reiner, deserves sympathy, while his mentally ill son deserves none, for his realization and reaction to what his father actually is.
And his troubles are over.
Rob and his son nick suffered from mental illness.
I do not have any sympathy for Rob Reiner or his son.
I do not like to see my preferred leader (President Trump) mocking someone who suffered a horrendous death.
These "rules of conduct" are about what we may tolerate our leaders doing to us. They are not about what they do to their opponents.
If Trump wants to disparage Rob Reiner for his actions in life, I have no problem with that. He can even say all kinds of mean and nasty things about him. I do not object to that. I would not mock the death of even a hated enemy and do not want my prospective leaders to do that.
AND, encouraged people to binge watch Reiner movies, except for “North”, which may be the worst movie of all time.

This is the Charlie Kirk standard. Is murdering someone who expresses political views you find odious/offensive justified? To me, there is zero daylight on that standard between Charlie's murder, and Reiner's.
I'm on the side of it is horrendous, and that the murderer deserves the death penalty and no sympathy. In both cases.
And my opinion of those who use that occasion to insult the person who was just murdered is the same in both cases as well.

That is the exact problem that some here just refuse to recognize.
Whenever that point is raised, the response is to quit being such a squish, toughen up, etc., which completely misses the point. What Freepers personally think about those statements is virtually irrelevant because most of us are going to vote GOP in the midterms anyway.
What does matter is how swing voters perceive those kind of comments by Trump. Whether someone believes those voters are stupid, or squishy, or whatever for changing how they vote because of something like that is immaterial. All that matters is that some votes are lost.
A lot of people also dying from the Russian Derangement Syndrome. Both were invented by the Democrats.

I believe that Reiner would support the presumption of innocence for the fentanyl, and the necessity of sanctuary for it in an American city.

Reiner gets killed by schizophrenic son with history of drug intoxicated living. I wonder what Hollywood attached entity goes to jail for supplying drugs to Nick? And maybe being a partial cause of Rob and wife’s death. Did Rob and wife supply drugs to son? That would be sad indeed.
