When T.L. (Sam Elliott) revealed he didn't know what the ABC talk show was, Tommy (Thornton) gave him a pointed description of it
Taylor Sheridan got meta in the latest episode of Landman.
During a phone call between estranged father and son, Tommy (Billy Bob Thornton) and T.L. (Sam Elliott), the oil executive did not mince his words as he described The View to his father, who just moved into Tommy's home after years of them not speaking.
When T.L. called to tell Tommy he didn't "know what to do," Tommy said his dad should "do whatever you want to do."
"Read a book or watch TV — watch one of them daytime talk shows, you know, like The View or something," Tommy suggested, which prompted T.L. to ask, "What's The View?"
Tommy then described the ABC talk show, which is hosted by Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines and Alyssa Farrah Griffin, in no uncertain terms.
The View is, he said, a "bunch of pissed off millionaires bitching about how much they hate millionaires — and [President Donald] Trump and men and you and me — and everybody else they got a bee up their ass about."

In the first Landman season, Billy Bob tried to tell an “environmentalist” the truth about oil and wind power.
The clip from Landman went viral for slamming the use of renewable energy like wind turbines, that are intended to combat the effects of climate change.
Kayla (environmentalist) - “They use clean energy (wind).
Billy - “They use alternative energy. There is nothing clean about this”
Kayla - “Please, Mr. Oilman, tell me how the wind is bad for the environment?”
Billy - “You have any idea how much diesel you will have to burn to mix that much concrete or make that steel and haul this s–t out here and put it together with a 450-foot crane? You want to guess how much oil it takes to lubricate that f-—ing thing? Or winterize it? In its 20-year lifespan, it won’t offset the carbon footprint of making it. And don’t get me started on solar panels and the lithium in your Tesla battery.”
Billy - “If Exxon thought them f-—ing things right there were the future, they would be put all over the g—damn place,”
My wife and I watched it last night and busted out 😆
We’re confusing actors with the characters they are hired to play now? Whew.
That is tops for me from the first season
Oh yeah !!
Who cares? He showed himself to be anti-Trump and anti-MAGA. Elliott is dead to me.
Didn’t know that.
The first season was very good. I like Rebecca the super lawyer. The second season is OK but lagging.
I LOVED that scene.
Maybe the best TV scene in years/decades.
They took down an old wind turbine recently in MA.
Someone posted a picture of it on Facebook.
It got hundreds of comments about how bad they really are. How much concrete it takes to build the base. How much gear oil it takes to keep it operating. It made me a little more encouraged that not everyone falls for these “green energy” scams. That there are some critical thinkers.
However, there were multiple people who thought they were the least expensive way to make electricity. Which they may actually be WHEN the wind is blowing just right. Not too fast, not too slow. Yet, they failed to account for all the other costs to manufacture, ship, erect, then remove. That rebar/concrete base will be in the ground forever. Plus that they do not make electricity most of the time. Especially, when they are down for maintenance.
I suspect like a lot of shows, once it gets popular, they’ll start bringing in the faggotry.
“as a bunch of women who are angry that they never looked like the hotties in Landman”
Or many republican women for that matter.
Can you name one atractive democrat female?....I sure can’t.
And anyone that says AOC needs to be checked for an anal cranial inversion!
I don’t think Taylor Sheridan will.let that happen.
Here is a prime scene with Rebecca the lawyer tangling (erupting) with some smug opposing male lawyers. Lotsa laughs! This is season one.

It was a real disappointment.
Agreed. And, we must recognize drifting in and out of their lanes on occasion. What’s most important is their recognition of that which needs to be.
“I suspect like a lot of shows, once it gets popular, they’ll start bringing in the faggotry.”
This happened to Mad Men. The first four seasons were solid. Then they brought in the female script writers to soften it up, to rope in more female viewers.
Angry women with names like Joy, Sunni, and Whoopie...go figure
Max Americana could have provided one, had he remained on FR.
