An Arizona taco chain was forced to close seven of its restaurants after dozens of its workers were detained by ICE.
Taco Giro, which operates nine locations in the state and one in Mexico, lost about 10 percent of its staff after ICE agents raided their homes.
Cesar Rodriguez, director of operations for eatery, confirmed the seven closures to the Tucson Sentinel, though three have since reopened.
Forty-six workers were swept up in the raids, which were part of an operation by the Department of Homeland Security, the Internal Revenue Service and other federal agencies.
'Basically, they corralled everyone in the homes where they were living, which was a couple of houses,' Rodriguez told the publication.
'And they came into the establishment to verify documentation and some questioning items what they were investigating on and pretty much that was it.'
One of the Taco Giro outposts, located at the Country Club of Green Valley, lost about six employees, Rodriguez said, noting no agents turned up at the restaurant.
'The accusation is they were paying the employees that were undocumented cash under the table,' Rodriguez told the publication.

Sob story #7,403.
Word has it that Taco Bell “dropped a dime”.
Now self-serve?
So, 56 employees living in a couple of houses.... Yeah, nothing going on there.
Forty-six workers in a couple of houses?!?
All I know is that there is almost NO rush hours traffic now.
I think the number of crimmigrants is underreported by tens of millions.
That spells the end for tacos š® in Arizona. /s
“Word has it that Taco Bell ādropped a dimeā.”
Considering what they call ‘tacos’, I doubt there’s any REAL Mexicans working there...so, good move on their part.
That happened here in southern NH about a decade ago, but it wasn’t Uncle Sam that found it. An older 4 bedroom farmhouse was rented out to a Chinese family that owned a couple of restaurants nearby. But instead of them moving in, they moved in more than a dozen of their employees who lived in Boston. But they would cycle through the house working 5 day shifts and going back to Boston the other 2 days. The only neighbor on the dead end street got suspicious seeing all of the different cars and people coming and going to the house that they called the Police. After some surveillance, an early morning Police visit found 13 people sleeping there, with mattresses on the floor in every room but the kitchen. The story did not say anything about them being there legally or not, but both restaurants closed within a few months and I believe the restaurant owners had to pay the landlord a lot of $$$ to repair the house, as the house had been trashed.
America is now a land of exotic restaurants created by mass immigration, and they don’t follow hiring laws against discrimination, diversity doesn’t exist in their work places, whether a restaurant or a construction crew.
Foreign policy described by Margaret Thatcher as āLose a country, gain a restaurant,ā.
Cash under the table? That’s some major tax fraud as well as hiring illegals.
Lock up the owners.
What I voted for :)
I think I see the problemo here.
Maybe time to close down the chain for hiring , housing ,and maybe transporting illegals .
Just a idea.
unreal .
The feds should indict the owners/franchizees/managers for illegally employing the criminal aliens.
I tell people in Texas you can have authentic Mexican cooking made by authentic Mexicans
