A Danish sperm bank has introduced a minimum IQ requirement of 85 for potential donors. This new rule has sparked debate about genetics, ethics, and parental expectations in assisted reproduction.
Setting a Minimum Intelligence Standard The Danish sperm bank Donor Network now screens donors by intelligence, becoming the first in the world to require a minimum IQ of 85. It also bars anyone with a criminal record. So far, the company has turned away about 18 percent of applicants who failed to meet the IQ standard.
The average IQ is about 100, and researchers estimate that intelligence is 50–80 percent hereditary. The bank’s director says smarter donors may give children a better chance at strong educational and economic outcomes. His goal, he adds, is to give single women and couples more confidence when choosing a donor.

The sperm bank appears to be advertising toward the donor but they're really advertising toward the customer, hence the ads in wealthier neighborhoods.

If I were running the sperm bank, I'd up the minimum IQ to something like 35. Why depreciate the gene pool?
Hey that's important! We need a law that all sperm voters must have an IQ above 135. Then let's encourage sperm donation. That'll help improve the future gene pool and lower the number of Democrat voters.
IMO an ad like that could be aimed at both “recipients” and men. As I said they mention $2,500 a month so it’s aimed at least partially at donors.

They set the bar way too low. 85 is borderline retarded. And 18% of them couldn’t reach that low standard? Sheesh.
In nursing school, I was taught 80 was “retarded” and 110 was average. It’s pretty shocking they’d accept anything less than 120, but then it serves governments to keep the people stupid and their progeny even worse.
