A Maryland mayor’s decision to eliminate the city’s only rainbow crosswalks has become the latest flash point in a nationwide campaign to strip LGBTQ+ symbols from public spaces.
The Salisbury crosswalks, installed in 2018 and repainted each year by volunteers, were removed on November 11 after Salisbury Mayor Randy Taylor ordered crews to mill away the paint at dawn, The Washington Post reports. Taylor, who narrowly won office in 2023, said the city must ensure “neutrality” on government property.

Why do adults insist on grooming children into the lifestyle?
Government and any of its entities should not raise any movements political banners. They are supposed to politically neutral - government of all the people, not governments representing any single political movement.

they didn’t even use a picture of the rainbow crosswalk being painted over... i live there. the picture in the article is not downtown salisbury.
plus, don’t get angry if the “art” you paint on the street gets tire marks on it.
That pic was a particularly ugly street painting.
In the latest news, Dallas’s “gayborhood” was having one of their rainbow crosswalks removed and the queer United Methodist “church” in the neighborhood painted their steps in the queer colors. It was garish and detracted from the stately old-school Methodist building. These people make EVERYTHING ugly.
Just paint Noah’s ark below the rainbow. With a dove returning to the ark.
Neither method would probably insure neutrality as it should be....plain pavement or asphalt & no advertising at all.
