The number of women seeking permanent birth control — via tubal ligation — has increased more than 50% following the Supreme Court’s 2022 Dobbs v. Jackson case, which overturned Roe v. Wade, the landmark legislation that protected abortion access.
Researchers examined the number of tubal ligations — commonly known as "getting your tubes tied" — performed at four academic medical centers in New York, Pennsylvania, Florida, and Tennessee, before and after Roe v. Wade was overturned. They recorded the findings in a study published in the journal Contraception.
In the year after Roe v. Wade’s overturn, researchers recorded a 51% increase in procedures, “particularly in younger and nulliparous [people who have never given birth] patients,” the study said. “Fear of losing access to future reproductive options is integrated into reproductive decision-making, illustrating the wide-reaching impact of political interference in patient autonomy.”
“The Dobbs decision was an inflection point that made people think about their future plans,” Sarah Horvath, associate professor and vice chair of research in the department of obstetrics and gynecology and co-author of the study, said in a press release from Penn State. “More than anything, we saw that the Dobbs decision impacted the timing for people seeking tubal ligations more than it influenced the actual decision to have the procedure."
Tubal ligation is a surgical procedure where the fallopian tubes are “cut, blocked or sealed off” to permanently prevent pregnancy, Cleveland Clinic explains. The practice is “safe and effective and can be done at any time.”

Yes, my insurance paid. Being as I am very healthy, that is all they paid for many years. And I didn’t have to waste taxpayers money on public schools , and since I didn’t have kids, no fed tax deduction. I paid more in taxes because I could not deduct children. So anything my insurance paid out was much less than someone producing babies and everyones tax dollars to educate them.
Is every time that you engage in sex, the reason is for producing children.? Are you celibate if you don’t want anymore children , or your spouse is post menopause? Because if you are having sex , and not producing children, you are a hypocrite because you are not practicing what you preach.
This is an interesting debate. On the one hand, it will save many potential babies’ lives as the need to end a pregnancy will be a non-issue since the woman is now sterile. On the other hand, it is such a selfish, demonic act. It also harkens back to push for eugenics and the effort to promote sterilizaion of the unfit. These women seeking permanent sterilization are basically admitting they are unfit to reproduce so the essentials of eugenics remain active in this so called “enlightened” era.

No, it implies no such thing. You do, however, make a common specious argument. Menopause is natural. Mutilation is not.
You make another common specious argument, which betrays a catastrophic misunderstanding of human reproductive biology. Regardless, the primary PURPOSE of sexual intercourse is reproduction. Other purposes are secondary and support the primary purpose.

The hypocrisy here is astounding. You can have sex without producing children, yet no one else can. Let me ask you, are you a man? Did you have a vasectomy? Because I bet a lot of men in FR have had a vasectomy. Are you against vasectomies? That would be considered mutilation in your opinion.

Mutilation: cutting the body to damage or destroy a properly functioning organ or system of organs.

It did bring me yo the conclusion that using birth control, women keep abortion as a final plan B. Can’t really have the same lifestyle without abortion.

I hope you are celibate, otherwise you are a hypocrite. The rest of us will have our tubal ligations or vasectomies, and we don’t care what the hypocrites think. Having a tubal is way safer than being pregnant and the complications that can bring. If people want children, thats great. I just could never tolerate being a mother, and made my decision. Especially after seeing how my friends/family children turned out. Autism, defiance, joblessness, drug addiction. Nope, not for me.

Nope, its our business, not yours. And I bet 70% of men here on FR have had vasectomies, or their spouse had a tubal after pregnancy. Your argument makes you in the extreme minority.

Herein lies our problem, as a nation we are in rebellion against the biology God embedded in our being.
Why are so many of us, especially women mentally ill in record numbers and on drug therapy for mental disorders and emotional distress:
1) Abortion and lies about child birth.
2) A political belief that having children is evil if you don’t plan them financially
3) Tubal ligation
4) Male Vasectomy
5) all to support adultery and pleasure without the blessing and consequence of children. this nation now fully despises and rejects the One Flesh order of life for mankind. Fools and blind. No amount of education can erase the error of our nation’s course of operation.
6) when Social Security fails, and it will... the women and men who were taught that a life of no children or spouses would make them happy... will trigger waves of suicide and tragedy.
7) Government that systemically replaces God, blocks faith in the almighty who created us male and female, rejection of husband and wife relationships where the wife honors and loves her husband and he honors and lays down his life for her and the children... and churches that pass responsibility off to government instead of repentance befor the living God, are those who are responsible for fomenting a culture of rebellion against God.
Divine Judgement is the only possible result. No amount of exportation of aliens, or tariffs can fix the problem... in a nation that has been given over by God to a state of reprobation... which God does, in order to enact his plan to destroy the cancerous decline, root and branch.
Jesus will rule with a rod of iron. This garbage will cease in the earth via divine confrontation.
I see no way for that to be avoided.
