Yes, my insurance paid. Being as I am very healthy, that is all they paid for many years. And I didn’t have to waste taxpayers money on public schools , and since I didn’t have kids, no fed tax deduction. I paid more in taxes because I could not deduct children. So anything my insurance paid out was much less than someone producing babies and everyones tax dollars to educate them.

Yes, the rest of your risk pool paid for your elective, voluntary, and unnecessary expense.

Medical "insurance" is a thoroughly screwed up mess; we're just scratching the surface of it here.
