Lizzo believes we, as a society, must “undo the effects of the Ozempic boom” because plus-sized women are being “erased.”
The musician, 37, took to Substack on Sunday to share an essay titled, “Why is everybody losing weight and what do we do? Sincerely, a person who’s lost weight.”
Lizzo, who began shedding pounds in the fall of 2023 following a very public harassment and hostile work environment scandal, confessed that the ordeal made her “deeply suicidal.”

“We’re in an era where the bigger girls are getting smaller because they’re tired of being judged. And now those bigger girls are being judged for getting smaller by the very community they used to empower,” she argued.
“There’s nothing wrong with living in a bigger body. There’s nothing wrong with being fat. But if a woman wants to change, she should be allowed to change.”
According to Lizzo, “extended sizes are being magically erased from websites,” “plus sized models are no longer getting booked for modeling gigs” and “all of our big girls are not-so big anymore.”

Sounds like it’s not “erased.” Sounds like truth. Fat is ugly. Nauseating, even. And people are tired of perpetuating this whole DEI scam.

There’s a difference between celebrating a variety of healthy shapes + proportions versus: mainstreaming being unhealthily and morbidly obese.
She is looking great and far healthier these days — should stop apologizing for it.
Before the turn of the millennium, doctors used the term morbidly obese for those in sizes 24 and up.
Cass Elliot did not die at a normal life’s end. Her physique did have something to do with it.
Women like her seem to fill their cupboards with tons of snack food. I’m sorry, but have some self control. When you’re over 250 lbs...no snack food.

Get rid of the excess fat and make your life better.

There is more to this than just the weight loss. While weight loss is a common and significant side effect of Ozempic due to its appetite-reducing and stomach-emptying effects, Ozempic is not FDA-approved as a weight-loss drug. The same active ingredient, semaglutide, is approved for chronic weight management under the brand name Wegovy®, which is prescribed at higher doses for individuals with obesity or overweight and at least one weight-related condition. Using Ozempic solely for weight loss is considered “off-label” and may not be covered by insurance.
Additionally, with the huge increase in people using the drug for this they have been buying so much of it that it is very difficult for diabetics to get it to use as a supplement and short term insulin to get the initial food intake covered so as not to get extreme spikes. I had to go to another product, my third now, to get the need covered and I’m not going to say what it is for fear someone will start getting their doctors to give it to them and I will not be able to get it due to short supplies, again.
