Disgraced ex-TV anchor Stephanie Hockridge will spend the next ten years behind bars for her role in a multi-million-dollar COVID fraud scheme – serving her time in the same cushy lockup as notorious sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell.
The 42-year-old, a former Phoenix TV anchor turned entrepreneur, was sentenced in Texas federal court Friday and ordered to cough up nearly $64 million in restitution for the bogus Paycheck Protection Program loans she helped secure during the height of the pandemic, the Justice Department announced.
Hockridge, found guilty in June of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, will report to prison on Dec. 30.
She will be locked up at Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas — the same minimum-security facility that houses Jeffrey Epstein’s madam, disgraced Theranos fraudster Elizabeth Holmes, and “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” scammer Jen Shah, AZ Family reported.
Hockridge and her husband, Nathan Reis, founded a lending-services company called Blueacorn in 2020, which they claimed was designed to help small businesses secure federal Paycheck Protection Program loans at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
But prosecutors said couple’s Scottsdale-based firm charged borrowers kickbacks based on percentage of the funds received — and submitted applications to the US Small Business Administration, which ran the PPP program, they knew where loaded with fraudulent information.
In one application, Reis reportedly falsely claimed he was a veteran and an African American.

10 years in a luxury prison. Not really hard time for stealing 64 million, plus she most likely won’t serve the full 10 years.
LOLOL…”falsely claimed he was a veteran and an African American.”
There are so many corrupt female blacks…we need fake ones now? Did she think she could get away with fraud if she was black?
Her husband, Nathan Reis, made that claim.
Tip of the iceberg of that scamdemic fraud
Most not that big, but there were thousands of them
The whole government should be locked up. As for her, she should be released into protective custody at my house.
They should have just called it the “Prison Preparation Program” instead.
How do you prove, in a court of law, that someone isn't an "African American?!"
What clause of the Constitution, what provision of the Federal Penal Code, defines exactly what an "African American" is?!
Is it a crime if I state, on an application, that I am an "Irish American" even though I have only 3.125% Irish blood?
Is it even legal for a Federal authority to demand that I divulge my ancestry or ethnic background?!
Regards,
($64 million in restitution)
Dang now that is some serious cash.
By the time I get to Phoenix,
she’ll be stealin’...
She’s like a Phoenix,
rising from Arizona!
How Much Time Is Actually Served
Federal inmates must serve at least 85% of the sentence if they earn good-conduct time.
10 years = 120 months
120 months × 0.85 ≈ 102 months actually served
→ About 8.5 years in prison
Possible Reductions
These can shorten actual prison time a little, but not massively:
First Step Act Earned Time Credits
If the person qualifies (most wire-fraud offenders do), they can earn:
Up to 15 days of credit per 30 days of program participation
Credits reduce time in prison by allowing earlier transfer to a halfway house or home confinement, not shortening the sentence itself.
This can shift the last 6–18 months out of prison depending on program availability.
Overall realistic outcome
A typical 10-year wire fraud sentence often results in:
Prison time: about 7.5 – 8.5 years
Then halfway house/home confinement: a few months to a year
Plus supervised release: usually 3 years
Security Level for Wire Fraud
Wire fraud is nonviolent, so most people serve in:
A low-security federal prison or
A federal prison camp (if criminal history is low and no enhancements)
