i’ll ask again..can anybody explain why Trump fought against this release?...it made him look guilty as hell. He played right into the medias hands. Now, no matter what he says or does, theyll keep saying hes hiding something... Anybody???
A real possibility is timing.
The release may have always been on the long and carefully timed Presidential agenda and finally worked up to the top.
Other actions had a higher priority before now
To protect those who Epstein worked for.

Maybe Epstein held grudges like Trump does. Maybe trump knew or suspected his name would be all over the files. Maybe he worried people wouldn’t believe him or he just didn’t want it all to overshadow his agenda
Maybe Susan wiles gave him bad advice which made everything so much worse.
Or maybe he is covering for more than one country so as to not blow the whole world up as it is revealed how many countries knew or participated in the schemes
Or, conversely, the media and Democrats played right into Trump’s hands.

Did he fight it? What I saw was him being for release all along. He didn’t like the democrats making it all about him, and called that a hoax. The media pushed the narrative he was against release but it was a manufactured narrative they then attacked him for. It’s a wrap up smear.
The dems in power didn’t want it to be released. If they did, selected parts would have been released to torpedo Trump’s campaign. Trump teased them into demanding the release. TDS
I think the timing missed a little bit. Optimally, right after the primaries would have been best so the left would have to compete with very flawed candidates. Now they have a window to recover slightly.
