A team of independent researchers is claiming to have found Atlantis.
The research centers around stone structures on Spain's Salmedina Island, off Chipiona in the Gulf of Cádiz, west of the Strait of Gibraltar.
The ruins are spread across roughly 11.6 square miles of offshore seafloor and adjacent coastline, with some walls measuring 23 feet high and 6.5 feet thick.

Zero possibility of any truth. ALL FICTION.
Could there be lost cities? Of course. But NONE of them are Atlantis. Atlantis is fiction. Pure 100% fiction. All the way through.
“Zero possibility”? There could have very well been a place called “Atlantis” and it sunk into the ocean. Except it certainly would not be anything like Plato described, or Edgar Cayce. Those stories I believe are pure fiction. Any civilization that advanced would have left evidence and even survivors from some catastrophe, and they would probably have colonized other places. So, maybe not entirely “ALL FICTION”.
OK maybe there’s a .0001% chance one of the lost cities was an island that somebody, though certainly not the locals because it’s a very Greek name, called Atlantis. But there it ends. And even that is unlikely because why would Plato choose a real place name for an allegory? That would be silly and lead to... well exactly the BS that goes on now. People obsessing on the “reality” of it and ignoring the allegory he was trying to teach. So really, no, it’s ALL FICTION. Because that was the point of the exercise.
Plato was told of an island that sunk into the Atlantic Ocean by an Egyptian priest. Whether Plato decided to name it “Atlantis” or the priest spoke some Greek and named it that I have no idea. You may be correct the whole thing may be a fabrication, but on the other hand, the story could have some basis of a real event. There are many ancient sunken cities around the world.
But again, since the point of the story is good government vs bad government, why name it after a real place? It’s just not smart. It would be like Swift naming Gulliver went after real places. Just encourage people to miss the point.
Yes there are sunken cities around the world. And finding them and studying them is cool. But claiming any of them are Atlantis is just lying to gin up free press and money. They aren’t. None of them are.
You are certainly allowed, and have every right to have your own opinion ad express what you believe. I, on the other hand, just want to keep an open mind before I make anything 100% positive or !00% negative.
This isn’t opinion. It’s base reality. It is 100% FALSE. Those are the facts on the table. Just like Lilliput, R’lyeh, and the Lost World. A fictional used to tell a story that has other messages and people who go about trying to find are either liars or fools. It is a 100% negative. Period. Open minds are nice, but don’t let your brains fall out. There is no Atlantis. There never was. And Plato spins in his grave every time somebody says otherwise.
