A team of independent researchers is claiming to have found Atlantis.
The research centers around stone structures on Spain's Salmedina Island, off Chipiona in the Gulf of Cádiz, west of the Strait of Gibraltar.
The ruins are spread across roughly 11.6 square miles of offshore seafloor and adjacent coastline, with some walls measuring 23 feet high and 6.5 feet thick.

It’s the right general area. Under the mud flats of Doñana National Park nearby is another location that is being explored.
“Atlantis” has been discovered in a number of locations offshore. Offshore is much nearer than it was 12000 years ago before the collapse of the Northern Hemisphere glaciers collapse. They can’t all be Atlantis but they could be remains of civilization at some level before the oceans rose. Population was tiny compared to today and would have been mostly near the seashore which was then inclusive of a lot of land that is now continental shelf. Much has been found in Doggerland and Sundaland and in the Black Sea, not to mention off of Cuba. Much fantasizing has been done about a very short reference by Plato to Atlantis.
If they find Atlantis, they will have to retcon Aquaman, Prince Namor, and Lori Lemaris.

I’ve always favored that the legend “Atlantis” was simply the memories turned legend of the world before the flood in Genesis.

Despite the island question, the sedimentary analysis is very interesting.
I would expect such old structures to be essentially buried by sediment - especially if closer to the continent - but I cannot locate the site.
I’ll await more info.
Lower the water level by 300 - 400 ft. and the Mid Atlantic Ridge becomes islands. For some reason I thought those mountains were much deeper underwater. So, during the last Ice Age when it apparently was Islands there could quite possibly have been humans there.
I also cannot find ANYTHING on this 'atlantica' film.
If it's so groundbreaking, why not share it on the web???
If you look at the map from Asia to Australia, prior to the end of the Ice Age, you can almost walk with short jaunts paddling in the water.

It is weird, but there are many undocumented small islands. I’m going to check on the scientist, see if the dude is legit.
The film has not been released yet.
They will be saying the same thing about Disneyland some day.
