Chocolate, cheese and various other items were found when police pulled over a car Suspected thieves with a sweet tooth were detained after police found a hoard of chocolate and cheese in a car.
A vehicle was pulled over by Cambridgeshire Police at Towerfields Leisure Park in Huntingdon on Thursday, after the car triggered an ANPR licence plate alert.
Officers found 135 bars and boxes of chocolates together with a quantity of Laughing Cow and Philadelphia cream cheese, Pot Noodles and clothing.
A couple from Birmingham were arrested and charged with carrying out the thefts from a shop in King's Lynn in Norfolk.
Writing about the haul on Facebook, Cambridgeshire Police said: "When a vehicle triggered our ANPR system linked to suspected shoplifters travelling through the county, our eagle-eyed neighbourhood officers sprang into action.
"They quickly caught up with the car — and inside were a husband and wife duo, along with a rather unusual haul".

“inside were a husband and wife duo”
Bonnie and Clyde......they ain’t 😏
I’m a choco-holic but I would draw the line - I think!
The Ferrero Rochers are very good. I nominate them to be the official chocolate of Free Republic, as both are “FR”.
Sorry. That’s not even the GOOD chocolate of the GOOD cheese. Certainly not worth getting busted for.
NEXT! :)
“”The Ferrero Rochers are very good.””
Are they malt? Round like that makes me think of malt...
Well, it’s the UK, so you take what you can get!..............
Laughing Cow? They’re going to prison for stealing Laughing Cow?! Dopes…
Ferrero Rocher is owned by the same company that makes Nutella. They're basically a hand-held bit of Nutella.
No more like the similar Lindts. High grade chocolate around caramel, hazelnut cream, and ground nuts.
Well they will be laughing stocks of the prison.
Given the price of chocolate these days, I’m not surprised at the heist.
I wanted to buy some Dubai chocolate for a family gathering b/c everyone is talking about it (I happen to like it very much) - the price of one medium-large bar is $20 - so no thanks. Even a small bag of small Reese-style cups was $10.
Anything Not Particularly Risky alert?
This one ranks right up there, being a Cadbury crime, a Ferrero Rocher filch, a Galaxy grab, a pot noodle poach, a Toblerone transgression, a cream cheese caper and more!
Gotta earn those Laughing Cow credits!
