Last Wednesday, Nov. 5th I closed on my new home in Southeast Tennessee.
Last Friday, Nov. 7th movers arrived at my now former home in Orland Park, IL and loaded up the moving truck. I was so anxious to get out of HELLINOIS, I'd already boxed up everything that wasn't furniture into moving boxes and made the job as easy as possible for the movers.
Loading up the 26' moving truck took about three hours and the movers were darn' impressed at how easy it was for them.
Saturday mid-day, the moving truck arrived at my new home in Southeast Tennessee (Loudon County) and we proceeded to unload the truck. Boxes were labeled for the rooms they went to, furniture was unloaded and put where I wanted it in just over two hours. Unloading is ALWAYS faster, and I helped unload.
I am a free man, outside the tyrannical reach of IL Gov JB Prickster (as we call him...) and that fat SOB can no longer seize my legally acquired weapons that he and the Democrats of IL decided one day were "illegal" and demanded I either turn them in or register them. (I did NEITHER, as did 90% of the rest of IL Gun Owners.)

That means Illinois taxpayers pay for abortions via their tax dollars, including abortions from those going to HELLINOIS from out of state for an abortion.
Criminal illegal aliens are a protected class in the state, as JB Prickster signed into law prohibitions on law enforcement cooperating with ICE in any way. That includes releasing dangerous illegals (rapists, murderers, etc..) from prison w/o notifying ICE, thus releasing these criminals to pillage, plunger, rape and murder Illinois Citizens again.
The "SAFE-T" act in Illinois puts strict limits on when criminals including ILLEGALS can be held in prison while waiting for trial and it's truth that rapists, murderers and more are far more often than not, released from prison on their own recognizance or wearing an ankle bracelet that's rarely tracked and reported on.
And then there's the TAXES in Illinois.
My property taxes on a TOWNHOME were north of $9k/year.
Adding insult to injury, I was also paying income tax, sales tax, wireless (cellphone) taxes that were the highest in the country, fuel taxes of near 80 cents/gal, taxes on foods, services, deliveries, amazon, you name it, it's taxed in HELLINOIS.
I totaled up all the taxes I paid in 2024 and it was over $30k out of my pocket, into that fat SOB JB Prickster's and the States Cofferes to spend on things I morally disagreed with.
Not anymore.
This morbidly obese PIG of a man JB Prickster thinks he's going to be President some day. The country doesn't know the truth about that man yet and I could write for DAYS about the damage he's done to that state.
Here's a big one: State Spending under JB Prickster's reign of crime and taxation terror the State of Illinois Budget went from $36.1 Billion, the last year of Republican Bruce Rauner's budget, to over $55 BILLION dollars in six short years.
That's $20 BILLION dollars more in spending, all of which was "funded" by more than 54 different tax packages passed by the Democrat Super-Majority State Legislature and signed by Gov. Fatso JB Prickster.
Finally, since 2019 more than 400,000 people have FLED Hellinois because of JB Prickster. These people are PRIMARILY taxpayers, many small to large business owners and in one case, Ken Griffin of Citadel, who moved his company and his $10,000,000,000 (BILLION) dollar company to Miami, FL.
Illinois is swirling the drain in a way that makes the Detroit, Michigan bankruptcy of the 80's look like a walk in the park. There is NO recovery for that state, IMO.
With the exception of IL Freepers, IL Voters are that damn' stupid and ESPECIALLY those in Chicago and East St. Lous, IL -- the two biggest Democrat voting parts of the state.
Every day here in Southeast Tennessee I wake up a FREE MAN, and I feel well rested. What a difference from living in HELLINOIS.
To my IL FR members left in HELLINOIS: GET OUT. NOW.

When we would visit our son stationed at Fort Campbell he would take us to places in southern Illinois like Garden of the Gods and the Land between the Lakes park. Really beautiful country with good people down there.

I live in Western PA and we have a demonRAT gubbernor, one and a half conservative Senators, 5-2 demonRAT Supreme court judges, the right to open carry without a permit and concealed with a permit.
Our local property taxes are way too high but where I live is very safe {and close to my hunting grounds}.
We had planned to move to FL, but Mrs. Alaska changed my mind and life is too short to get into an unwinnable argument.
Shapiro is a demonRAT and by definition cannot be trusted, but he is better than most of the demonRAT gubbernors.
Congrats. I left Commiefornia for the free state of Idaho last year. I was able to pay off the balance of my California mortgage and buy a really nice home here cash.
I now save at least $1000 a month on utilities, taxes, insurance and gasoline.
Red states are the only place to live.

I’m good in PA but must admit TN has much to recommend it.
As for taxes, my folks were paying over $10k for one property (home) when I was born (’90s). An awesome property close to NYC, but still that’s an insane amount of tax on a house. Thus I grew up in gun friendly, taxpayer friendly PA. Only thing wrong with it: no beach.
Been to KY often, to TN near as much. Beautiful country, great people.
