AI country singer Breaking Rust tops Billboard with ‘Walk My Walk'
San Francisco Chronicle via Yahoo ^ | 11/10/25 | Aidin Vaziri

A country hit made by artificial intelligence has climbed to the top of a Billboard chart - a first for the genre.

The song, "Walk My Walk," by an artist known as Breaking Rust, is now No. 1 on Billboard's Country Digital Song Sales chart. But the brooding, gravel-voiced cowboy behind the hit doesn't exist. At least, not in the traditional sense.

He's an AI creation with millions of streams, tens of thousands of followers and no verifiable human footprint.

When George Jones asked the musical question “Who’s Gonna Fill Their Shoes?” this is the answer.

And even if a new song is recorded by real musicians, I will assume the lyrics were generated by AI.

It would be real easy to generate a demo of songs and then commission the musicians to perform it.

No thank you.

The Temples Of Syrinx
Song by Rush ‧ 1976

We’ve taken care of everything
The words you hear, the songs you sing
The pictures that give pleasure to your eyes
It’s one for all, all for one
We work together, common sons
Never need to wonder how or why
We are the priests
Of the Temples of Syrinx
Our great computers
Fill the hollowed halls
We are the priests
Of the Temples of Syrinx
All the gifts of life
Are held within these walls
Look around this world we made
Equality, our stock in trade
Come and join the brotherhood of man
What a wide contented world
Let the banners be unfurled
Hold the red star proudly high in hand
We are the priests
Of the Temples of Syrinx
Our great computers
Fill the hollowed halls
We are the priests
Of the Temples of Syrinx
All the gifts of life
Are held within our walls

It is not easy to write the perfect country and western song.

Takes a rewrite or another verse :)

https://youtu.be/s4pZFsEdP3Y?si=JxBV3FhBEKCeTICY

Well, a friend of mine named Steve Goodman wrote that song
And he told me it was the perfect country & western song
I wrote him back a letter and I told him it was not the perfect country & western song
Because he hadn’t said anything at all about mama
Or trains, or trucks, or prison, or getting’ drunk
Well, he sat down and wrote another verse to the song and he sent it to me
And after reading it I realized that my friend had written the perfect country & western song
And I felt obliged to include it on this album
The last verse goes like this here

The tune had been haunting London for weeks past. It was one of countless similar songs published for the benefit of the proles by a sub-section of the Music Department. The words of these songs were composed without any human intervention whatever on an instrument known as a versificator. But the woman sang so tunefully as to turn the dreadful rubbish into an almost pleasant sound.

still much better than the hip hop (c)rap ‘music’ we’ve been subjected to by the sodomites and degenerates in control of our culture for the last 30+ years.

Imagine what AI Dolly’s boobs will look like. Oh, and a AI Opossum singing George Jones songs. Give me an effing break.

AI simply reflects its training sample. That’s why this AI hit is derivative.

I’d rather listen to Pharaoh Sanders; he innovated.

The “thing” sounds a bit like Ari Kaplan. Ari is MUCH better, though.

IT does not sit right, does it? It does not take breaths.

I am not a fan of Country Music generally. There is plenty I think is good must most of it doesn’t appeal.

I just listened to “Walk My Walk” out of curiosity.

Amazing voice from AI. Sounds terrific.

Song is not that good but it is catchy and easy to follow and gets under your skin really quickly. I can see it being a chart-topping hit. I liked the song overall, as a not-Coutry Music fan.

AI is just flat out powerful. It is going to optimize everything, evil lincluded.

It is the optimization of evil that terrifies me. In many other areas, AI is going to be insanely fabulous. Fabulous is not wort the cost of evil, however.

I continue to be grateful to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, for having me born in the 1950s so I am short for what is coming in the near future. I will be dead and buried, so I will just apologize to future generations for what is going to happen to them. Overall, I am not really to blame. I have opposed a lot of it but just lost too many battles to the stupid and the corrupt and the tyrannical.

All that said above, I have heard it said that young people can tell an AI written song sung by an AI voice, right off. Meanwhile, we Boomers are completely fooled.

I admit to being fooled, I just don’t know how true it is that Gen Z can tell an AI song in seconds.

It sounds like every other country song.

Yep. Stereotypical lyrics chock full of clichès.

I like John C. Reilly. Is the movie worth watching?

No. Funny premise badly executed, though the songs were well done. What's odd is that Will Ferrell wasn't at least partly responsible (do NOT see their "Holmes and Watson" debacle if you like comedies).

If you haven't seen it check out "Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant" for a very good performance by Mr. Reilly.

The lyrics of this one are kind of a middlin’ country song lyric, until it gets a bit repetitive, and there are some bits that sound like they were written by an amateur or a child. IMHO.
