I do believe that the climate alarmists have reached the "depression" stage of grief, where they're beginning to realize that the hysteria they've built their lives around is actually rather meaningless.
Popular Mechanics reports:
The ocean is humanity's greatest ally in the fight against anthropogenic climate change. According to the United Nations, the world's oceans produce 50 percent of the oxygen we breathe, absorb around 30 percent of atmospheric carbon, and capture 90 percent of the excess heat produced by greenhouse emissions. Without the ocean, we'd be well and truly cooked.
However, the ocean's role as a carbon sink is complicated, and new research suggests that even under an ideal climate scenario — one where humanity gets its act together and creates a net-negative carbon world — heat trapped in the Southern Ocean could be "burped" up, producing anthropogenic climate change-like effects for decades or even centuries.
The ocean after climate activists spend five decades trying to convince everyone to lose their minds with panic:

You just gotta love the irony: Years and years of dogged, furious effort on the part of the Left to make climate panic happen, and yet even if we enter a "net-negative" carbon scenario, the ocean is just going to basically fart and render it all meaningless.

Indeed, the study indicates that the alleged "burp" of heat would have the same affect as, apparently, "several centuries" worth of energy-generating activity:
[The study] showed that over several centuries of cooling, an abrupt discharge of heat will increase global mean temperatures in a similar way to those experienced by humans between the post-industrial era and the (hopefully) net-negative carbon future.
Me after I spent 300 years reducing my carbon output only for the ocean to just spew it all back in my face:

Good luck with all this, climate alarmists!

It was... the salmon mousse.
When it happens, let us know. Then it will be news.
It will be like dropping a Mentos into a 2 liter bottle of soda.................
“The “solar global warming” impact is fading so now they’re using the “burp warming”.”
Other boondoggles inclue the Bomb Cylone and the Atomopheric River.
“Scientists”, “Professors”, “Universities”......LOL
What could possibly be wrong??? /s
Well, if frogs had wings, they wouldn't whomp their ass every time they jumped.
Bkmk
This could make landfall as a category 5!!!!!
er category 4!
er category 3!
er category 2 :(
er nevermind it’s a just a storm
I didn’t see “consensus “ listed.
I thought this could be about the “ More than 19,000 undersea volcanoes discovered New seamount maps could aid in studies of ecology, plate tectonics, and ocean”. Science.org
Well after every burp comes a long deep inhale, so whatever is burpee out will be jnhaled right back in again, plus more.
Translation: I don’t know sh###t from shinola, and I have been using fancy shinola phraseology, that passes for an educated climatologist, to receive all kinds of $$$$ from USAID and other fools. My shinola is no longer funded by USAID, and I really don’t know how to do much of anything except try to think of new ways to scare people into funding more of my shinola.
The ocean is more like a giant bubbling bucket of Alka-Seltzer. The water density inreases the deeper you go. It keeps the gasses contained like a cap on a soda bottle. If you’ve spent time deep sea fishing, on a calm day when the water is still, you can even hear it fizzing at the surface as the boat stirs the water. The gas bubbles are super tiny.
I remember the 1970s in which a plan was to mine coal, grind it to dust, and spray it on the glaciers and ice fields to increase the absorption of heat from the sun to stop THE COMING ICE AGE!

BUT WE STOPPED THE COMING ICE AGE DEAD IN IT’S TRACKS!

Changing the weather intentionally or otherwise weather modification..(Earth cooling vs Greenhouse effect)
“Do you suppose we can learn enough, soon enough, to pull off a balancing act with the CO2 blanket saving us from another ice age?”
***
AND WE DID IT with CO2!
CO2 bonds with water to make carbolic acid, an unstable compound that dissociates when you shake a bottle of Coke. As water becomes warmer (or a bottle of Coke shaken) the process accelerates. Increasing global temperature would reasonably be expected to release some CO2 from the ocean, but increased atmospheric CO2 would increase the ocean’s CO2 content.
If the atmospheric “gain” in CO2 caused by warming from released CO2 was greater than the amount of CO2 absorbed by the ocean from the atmosphere, all the CO2 in the ocean would already be gone.
Instead it exists in a very stable equilibrium, where the ocean absorbs as much CO2 as it releases.
I suppose the effect they are trying to sell is (another) tipping point, where the next molecule of CO2 in the atmosphere causes the release, on average, more than one molecule of CO2 from the ocean.
So we are at another TIPPING POINT and we only HAVE FIVE* MORE YEAR!
How many millions did this fraud cost?

Uh, how ‘bout:
How many Trillions did this fraud cost?
Is an ocean burp worse than cow farts?
We must melt all the icebergs to save the planet!!
Yep, that’s what they taught us in school: We are in between Ice Ages right now, there’s another on coming in about a thousand years or so...............and we can’t do anything about it..........

That is exactly what is necessary. More water, instead of ice, will hold more CO2................
