"Free thought" is a philosophical viewpoint which holds that positions regarding truth should be formed on the basis of logic, reason, and empiricism, rather than authority, tradition, revelation, or dogma.

Seibt is claiming persecution in her home country for her political beliefs after she received death threats from the far-left terrorist group Antifa.
The 25-year-old free speech advocate submitted her petition under Section 208 of the Immigration and Nationality Act.
She is asserting that returning to Germany would expose her to imprisonment or physical harm due to her political activism.
“I have now applied for asylum, which means that I’m waiting for an interview,” Seibt said in a statement.
“And, in the meantime, I’m here legally.
“My goal in the meantime is to become an American citizen in the future because this country has given me so much hope.”
Seibt said her decision came after years of harassment and state surveillance in Germany for expressing views at odds with the political mainstream.
“In 2024, I found out that I had been spied on by German intelligence for years,” she said.
“Simultaneously, I keep receiving death threats from Antifa.
“I went to the German police, and they told me that they can’t do anything about it as long as I have not actually been raped or killed.
“I am not getting protection from the German government even though I am at major risk of potentially being killed.”

federal judge in Washington, D.C., on Friday blocked a part of one of President Donald Trump’s executive orders that required voters to show proof of citizenship through passports or other documents before voting.
The ruling comes in response to a controversial March executive order that intended to overhaul federal elections. Multiple lawsuits have been filed to block different aspects of the order, including a part that bars states from counting mail-in ballots received after Election Day.
U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly declined to block the part related to counting the mail-in ballots, but did permanently block the proof of citizenship aspect, which was brought by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).
The judge ruled that the portion was illegal because the U.S. Constitution gives states, not the president, the power to oversee elections, according to Reuters.
“While we celebrate this victory, we remain vigilant and will keep fighting to ensure every eligible voter can make their voice heard without interference or intimidation,” ACLU’s Sophia Lin Lakin said. “No president can sidestep the Constitution to make it harder to vote.”
The White House and Trump have not yet commented on the ruling.

But Dawat-e-Islami is no benign religious entity. Founded in 1980, it is a hardline Barelvi movement known for violently enforcing Pakistan’s blasphemy laws and grooming loyalists for anti-blasphemy violence. Its founder, Ilyas Qadri, has declared:
“All Muslim scholars agree that a blasphemer must be killed… If a lover of the Prophet kills a blasphemer extra-judicially, the killer is not executed.”
This is not fringe rhetoric — it has inspired real-world terror. The 2020 Paris attacker who stabbed two men outside the former Charlie Hebdo offices cited both Tehreek-e-Labbaik clerics and Dawat-e-Islami’s Qadri as his guides. That act helped trigger a wave of anti-blasphemy violence now global in scale.

Study Praises Canadian Euthanasia’s ‘Real Impact’ on Organ Harvesting
A disturbing new medical study is raising alarm over Canada’s euthanasia regime after researchers praised the Canadian government’s “assisted suicide” program for boosting the organ-harvesting industry.
The study revealed that organs taken from people killed under the country’s “Medical Assistance in Dying” (MAiD) program are now being used in liver transplants, with results comparable to regular donations.
The findings, published in the Journal of Hepatology, are being hailed by liberal medical officials as a “success.”

But critics are warning that this is exactly the kind of rhetoric being used to expand Canada’s already radical euthanasia system.
Canada’s MAiD program has drawn international condemnation for encouraging vulnerable citizens, including the disabled and poor, to be euthanized instead of receiving expensive care.

Our ongoing study of the development of sailing ships. We started with the Viking longboat and now reach ultimate in wooden hulled sailing ships, the Clippers.
A clipper is a sailing vessel designed for speed, a priority that takes precedence over cargo-carrying capacity or building or operating costs. It is not restricted to any one rig (while many were fully rigged ships, others were barques, brigs, or schooners), nor was the term restricted to any one hull type.
The boom years of the clipper era began in 1843 in response to a growing demand for faster delivery of tea from China and continued with the demand for swift passage to gold fields in California and Australia beginning in 1848 and 1851, respectively. The era ended with the opening of the Suez Canal in 1869.
Many, myself included, think the Cutty Sark to be the ultimate example of the clipper ship.
