Steve Bannon Claims Trump 'Will Be the President' for a Third Term — and Inner Circle Has a 'Plan'
People Magazine ^ | October 23, 2025 | Meredith Kile

Some members of Donald Trump's inner circle are serious about him serving a third term in the White House, according to Steve Bannon.

Trump's former chief strategist — who has remained loyal to the MAGA movement, despite the fact that Trump fired him from his White House role less than a year into his first term — made the comments in an interview with The Economist's editor-in-chief, Zanny Minton Beddoes, and deputy editor, Ed Carr, in Washington, D.C. this week.

Bannon shared his certainty that Trump will remain in office for at least another term.

"He's gonna get a third term," Bannon said. "Trump is gonna be president in '28, and people just sort of [need to] get accommodated with that."

When asked about the 22nd Amendment, which prevents candidates from being "elected to the office of the President more than twice," Bannon said there's a plan in place to work around it.

Baffling his interviewers, Bannon referred to Trump as "a vehicle of divine providence," saying it's the "will of the American people" that he serve another term.

"He's not perfect. He's not churchy, not particularly religious, but he's an instrument of divine will. And you could tell this by how he's been able to pull this off," he continued. "We need him for at least one more term, right? And he'll get that in '28."

"We had longer odds in '16 and longer odds in '24 than we've got in '28," Bannon concluded. "We have to finish what we started."

I don’t think he’ll try it, but it makes sense to create the possibility if only to avoid being perceived as a lame duck by the midterms.

Well, “shall not be infringed” is ignored often enough.

And this is why legalizing Marijuana is a bad idea.

THC wrecks a person's cognitive brain functions and you start believeing your own imagination is reality.

put down the J, go have a bowl of cap'n crunch and then go lie down and take a nice nap. We'll talk about this tomorrow.

Well, if it can be proven that 2020 was stolen from him by fraud, then yes, he should get another term.

And I think it can be proven, and hopefully they have that in the works.

I do not think so.
For one, he will be 82 in 2028 and 86 in 2032.
Kind of old.

They ignored our immigration laws using bogus subterfuges like “asylum” “delayed action” “hardship” “here’s a hearing date notice everyone knows you will just wipe your buttocks with” “because we say so” etc.
It might kick off CW II. I’m not doing anything. Go for it.

Nooooooooooo! Need new younger blood.

This. If MAGA can't outlast President Trump, it has no future as a political movement.

And Steve Bannon today is no more a "Trump Insider" than I am. I don't know why people take his word as if he is.

I’d vote for him for another term. And I love the idea of reducing the lame duck period.

Perception of a strong Trump in power the necessity of keeping his personal popularity up to give him the strength to govern.

This is what is behind Bannon’s remarks.

It irks the Democrats, too.

Bannon is another clickbait tv personality. Not quite as bad as Candace but bad enough.
