NEW YORK — Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani has catapulted into second place in this year’s New York City mayoral race by promising free buses, no-cost childcare and city-run grocery stores.

Mamdani’s plan to provide childcare for all New York City children under 5 would indeed consume much of the new revenue he is hoping to obtain...
New York City is already set to borrow around $173 billion over the next 10 years to finance major infrastructure projects..
Mamdani has also pledged to renovate 500 schools...at $3.27 billion over a decade. .

There is no such thing as “free”, especially in socialism. Someone, somewhere is paying for it.
Those voting for this communist have got to be brain dead, in that they have zero knowledge of history and all the misery socialism/communism gives to people.
Add to that, having no knowledge of what an Islamist will do to them. Jews and homosexuals should be quite afraid of this guy, but are likely dumb enough to vote for the free stuff.
It’s fairly safe to say that if enough people vote for Mamdani to elect him, they will likely get what they least expect.
One sure thing they’ll find out in the future...there are many ways to get TO socialism but only ONE WAY back out of it.
can’t wait for him to bring the city and state to it’s knees. Citizens of NYC deserve the pain that is coming to them. The cost of being stupid is high.
there’s no doubt mamdani can’t deliver, which is a shame, because if he actually had the money necessary for all of his proposed projects, the disaster would be orders of magnitude worse than him doing nothing because of the impossibility of doing these kinds of things in NYC without killer regulations and killer corruption at ever level that would result in tens of billions being spent with little to show for it ...
right now, even politico and time magazine are proving the impossibility of zohran’s utopia with hard facts, figures, logic and common sense ... apparently, those two outfits can perform objective analysis when it suits them, it’s just that normally they choose lies and propaganda ...

You can vote your way into it but you have to shoot your way out. Is it possible Don Lemon knows this and is doing his part to warn the lefties they are going to need guns to get out of what they want? Okay, it’s a real stretch to consider Lemon would know this.

When the inevitable results happen, the dullards who elected him - mostly the younger ones - will simply leave NYC. And then they will spread their errors in elections elsewhere.
The same can be said for the good people of Venezuela, assuming their elections were honest.
There is the saying: “You can vote your way into socialism, but you might have to shoot your way out”.
My recollection of history is the extreme liberalism migrated from NYC to California and turned it from red to blue, and since then has blossomed to the disaster of today.
If NYC’s adventure in to socialism/communism moves west to California, then northward up the coast, we as a nation are screwed.

Whatever he enacts involving money, it would be wise to follow the dough, and monitor the sizes over time of his personal accounts.
