After two decades treating heart disease, clogged arteries, and metabolic dysfunction, I began to notice a pattern. Many of my patients thought they were doing everything right — like exercising regularly and managing stress — yet they still ended up in my office with serious cardiovascular issues.

Hubby has been keto for 6 years and carnivore for 1 year. He feels amazing and his checkup and bloodwork a few weeks ago were perfect. His doc is a believer and his former doc was a skeptic but became sold on it after his bloodwork kept getting better and better. He didn’t just lose weight, the inflammation in his body is nearly gone. He doesn’t snore anymore and his allergies are much better too.
A lot of people tell me, well glad it works for him, it’s not for everyone. Maybe not, but I have seen everyone who does it (right) has had their health improve tremendously.
It’s almost a safe bet that whatever they say is bad is good, good is bad. Look at how many times it has switched.
I almost commented on that, not only beer but alcohol in general. And the notes from my stay do not include abstinence. Something to consider during the Bama Tigers game today.
Both my maternal and paternal grandparents were farmers. I grew up outside a small town in Oklahoma . My stepfather owned a feed store and custom blended fertilizer.
The rancher farmers would run hot wires around a corn field after harvest. Then turn the cattle out to feed on the corn stubble and fertilizer the field.
They would also graze cattle on the bean fields to a point, then take them off and let the soybean mature.
I spent a lot of my youth cleaning and bagging seed for the local farmers.
Monsanto changed all of that.
Big difference between naturally cured meats, and highly injected/processed forms of cold cuts we have here in the U.S.
Take Oscar Mayer bologna for instance. What the hell is that stuff?

When I was an EMT, I could walk in your den and tell you if I was going to be back based on what I saw.
What I saw was a recliner.
Red Bull is vitamins with some caffine and is classified as an energy drink.
Should not be banned and should in fact be promoted. The B vitamins really perk you up. Instantly
I eat white bread occasionally but nothing else on the list.

That is also my personal belief. I have cardiac issues, and simply getting out and being physically active works. My excessive physical activity is fully approved by my med people.
The worst thing a person can do is retire with a TV remote control in one hand and a six pack of beer in the other. Sadly, my brother did that. His recliner was his best friend while he became morbidly obese and paid the highest price for it at an early age.
Many people think with heart related issues one should just sit back and relax and not do anything physically demanding. One such person was my American Legion rep to the VA for claims. I walked a half mile to her office once and she chewed me out for that.
I recently had a bad cold and Campbell’s Chicken Soup kept me alive for two days. Other than that, I do not touch it.

Ditto. Even ACTUAL cream in coffee ... eeewwww!
And the smell of flavored coffee brewing makes me leave the room. Only exception is that when I went to Kroger this week the Starbucks in there was brewing some spicy smelling thing (probably pumpkin), and it did smell good.
Yes. The caffeine withdrawal headache is excruciating. Even a sip or two of coffee helps — doesn’t even need to be a cup.
When we road trip I take coffee hard candy made with real coffee so we can get a quick “hit” without having to stop. It works.
I’ve heard about deep fried Twinkies, but never had one. Sounded weird.
