WASHINGTON, Sept 26 (Reuters) - U.S. military leaders deployed around the world have started to prepare to travel to Virginia for a meeting with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth next week, which some officials on Friday billed as a gathering focused on the "warrior ethos."
Hegseth has summoned U.S. generals and admirals from around the world to a meeting in Quantico, Virginia, on Tuesday, a rare gathering of the country's military leadership in one location.
While two U.S. officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said the event would focus on Hegseth's discussing the need to adhere to a "warrior ethos" throughout the military, others said the roughly one-hour-long event could touch on other areas.
A third official said that given how many senior officials would be in one location, it was likely that substantive issues, like the administration's new national defense strategy and the expected shrinking of the senior-most ranks in the military, could be discussed-- even if they were not officially on the agenda.
"I wouldn't be surprised if there was some surprise during the event," the official said. "We are not letting our guard down."
Officials told Reuters that the event is expected to take place at the Marine Corps University in Quantico, Virginia. Some of the senior-most officials, who are provided U.S. military aircraft for official travel, are expected to fly into Joint Base Andrews in Maryland.
The U.S. has troops around the world, including in distant locations like South Korea, Japan and across the Middle East-- which are commanded by two-, three- and four-star generals...

I await a real news source.
China is stockpiling oil!
...go figure
They’ve got a runway at Quantico.
I have a suspicion that many who arrive will not attend a meeting and will not return to their commands.
That would be nice.
“I have a suspicion that many who arrive will not attend a meeting and will not return to their commands.’
I would be perfectly OK with that.
Maybe Hegspeth is going to have each of them weighed as they come in...
Maybe he wants to meet them.
The U.S. armed forces swear an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and to obey the lawful orders of the President and their appointed officers, rather than a person or political party.
We know that under Obama (and Biden), certain officers may feel that they are loyal to the Democratic Party, rather than to the Constitution and the United States of America.

I had the same thought. Hegseth’s office or Hegseth himself can tell us.
The next ten percent go based on their service records: those who embraced woke ideology, trans surgeries and mandatory COVID vaccinations hit the bricks.
That's 20% gone for a good start. And if I were Hegseth I'd have that Pentagon courtyard pavilion's roof modified with a gallows; built loudly during business hours while all the leadership offices are relocated to the top floors facing inward.
After the first few traitors test the system there should be minimum trouble in the future.
Seems like an awfully big and expensive production for an “hour” long meeting. Surely, there is more to it all than just an hour long meeting.
Unless there is some compelling reason why they all have to physically travel there, why couldn't this be done through a teleconference?
Feels like grandstanding to me but we may soon find out.
PS, it also feels like not very respectful of their time unless it is something significant. Nor is is respectful of national security.
They’re being told about our upcoming invasion of a vicious Communist entity so foul it beggars description - but hey, enough about New York City...
“U.S.Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth”
“Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth”
A long time ago, Saddam Hussein gathered the leadership of Iraq to a meeting. During the meeting he named attendees, denounced them and had them walked out of the meeting. Most of those walked out were killed shortly thereafter. He had the event filmed.
While we don’t do that, this might be the start of a purge in the ranks.
I await a real news source.
Exactly, Reuters is cesspool of Trump hating children.
