The four themes laid out by Buchanan were successfully deployed by Trump two decades later: a halt to illegal immigration, no more endless wars, a hard line on trade and the strong use of tariffs, and standing up to political correctness.

It just shows that old arguments against Pat Buchanan’s views have fallen flat on their face.
He saw the corrupt political system up close the system where so many people were ‘friends of Jeffrey Epstein’.
I would call Pat Buchanan a gentleman by today’s standards.
I listened to him on local DC radio with Tom Braden before they launched the show on CNN.
Great listening heck Willard Scott did a weather segement.
Wm. Buckley said vote for him in the primary as a protest to the Bushes. Cost him nothing as his ideas and legacy were good enough. Buchanan fell into the same crossing-the-line trap O’rielly and Tucker/Savage fell into. Look at his communist black choice for VP. When we talk about core values we all know Buchanan had them but these attention getting acts over-dilute them.
Playing devil’s advocate won’t get past true believers.
“A Republic, NOT An EMPIRE” was a great book written by Pat Buchanan. The MSM knew he was a threat and fought hard to silence or discredit him.
We have been at war with the MSM for quite some time. Yet, they keep on warring without even a bruise.
Country would have been a lot better off if Pat was elected president the first time he ran
Who?
Buchanan was ‘controllable’ by the left as they could use his statements and writings against him.
Charlie Kirk was more of a pied piper. The labels wouldn’t stick so they had to kill him.
The way 0bama was passing them out they don’t mean anything.
Kirk and Limbaugh were both calm and level headed. They never were steady and never over the top. Class. Both had it.
These ‘others’ have to raise eyebrows to get their attention every time it wanes. It gets them fired. You can listen intently to 60% of their insights and fall in love with them. Then the other 40% comes out and you go woah-wait a minute! Michael Savage’s boss said just that on KSFO a couple of decades ago. Predictable. Tucker confronting John Bolton on his show was very enlightening. Then the bottom fell out. Same with O’reilly.
I never met Pat but I worked for his sister, Bay, at Reagan’s PAC, Citizens for the Republic. She was so fricking awesome. A true mentor in every sense of the word.
“I would call Pat Buchanan a gentleman by today’s standards”
I would call him a true-and -tried American patriot.
Willard Scott was the protoRonald in Mickey D ads back when.
