A Fox News presenter suggested during a live segment that people struggling with homelessness and mental health issues should be executed.
Brian Kilmeade made the comments on the network's flagship talk show Fox and Friends on Wednesday alongside co-hosts Lawrence Jones and Ainsley Earhardt.
The trio had been discussing the murder of Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska who was killed while on a bus when Kilmeade made the now heavily criticized remark.
Jones suggested that people not taking up programs to help those battling mental health and homelessness should be locked up, when Kilmeade went nuclear.
'Or involuntary lethal or something, just kill them', he said - with the comment passing by his cohosts who looked completely unfazed by the remark.
Earhardt added: 'Yeah, Brian, why did it have to get to this point?', failing to comment on his suggestion.
Kilmeade then proceeded to say that cities with large homeless populations were voting for the wrong leaders, urging those in North Carolina to 'wake up'.
Zarutska was murdered in Charlotte, North Carolina, on August 22 after being stabbed in the neck, suspect Decarlos Brown is accused of killing her.

Where I see the rub in his plan is who will be determining who is “mentally ill “ ?
There is nothing defensible about it. I’ve lived with bipolar disorder successfully for 12 years. I have never spent a night in a psych hospital. And that’s no insult to those that have. I’m as conservative as one gets. I managed the first campaign of my county’s first republican Judge Executive. I worked on republican campaigns for 12 years. I have 6 wonderful children that are all homeschooled and a great wife. I’ve been a committed Christian since I was a kid.
I have a diagnosed mental illness. What would become of me if this was a truly “defensible” position? The vast majority of those with a mental illness are not violent.

My son suffers schizophrenia, but is determined to live a better life, free from the pathologies. He takes his meds. He’s connected to support groups. And he’s progressing wonderfully. He’s even recovering spiritually, and is becoming more religious, and beginning to work on musical compositions again. Elon Musk is autistic, but also a genius who has changed the world vastly for the better. Brian Wilson was a musical genius, and also suffering from mental illnesses and habitually abused substances.
Kilmeade’s “solution” was actually practiced by the Nazis. Never again.
