A transgender comic book writer had their newly released project completely canceled by DC Comics after posts on BlueSky surfaced of them mocking the death of conservative icon Charlie Kirk.
Gretchen Felker-Martin, who is transgender and uses "she/her" pronouns, had a major Batman spinoff called "Red Hood" canned despite having a significant launch just this Wednesday. Additionally, it was expected to see future releases all the way into late 2026.
Now, Felker-Martin's pronouns can be changed to FA/FO.
“At DC Comics, we place the highest value on our creators and community and affirm the right to peaceful, individual expression of personal viewpoints," a statement from the company shared with CNN reads. "Posts or public comments that can be viewed as promoting hostility or violence are inconsistent with DC’s standards of conduct.”
Why soften the edges like that, DC? It's not viewed as promoting hostility. It is outright hostility, supporting and celebrating the violent murder of somebody whose biggest crime was sharing American and Christian values.
This person, in a just world, would never hold employment in a respected position again in their lifetime. What did he post that led to the Batman spinoff being dropped?

Imagine calling someone something that more accurately describes yourself. And imagine doing so when that person is literally dying. People like this, these wretched, wretched self-loathing pigs, do not belong employed in any sphere of cultural, educational, governmental, or public influence.
Felker-Martin didn't stop there, however. He later added, "Hope the bullet's okay after touching Charlie Kirk."

Who hired this despicable creature in the first place.? This appalling lack of judgement from the first interview didn’t raise any red flags? Fire the hiring manager and the HR department as well or it is a token dismissal.
