Race weekend is almost here. Ice down the beer, and fire up the engines!

F1 probably won’t let that tranny near one of their races. LOL.

I have never understood how Budweiser has been called the king of beers. It is horrible rot gut swill.

Thanks for the ping!

Have to work all weekend turning over a rental for Sept 1 - so I’ll be behind...

It looks like there will be some rain over the weekend and IIRC the last Dutch GP set a record for over-takes at 150+

The use of wooden tires makes this race interesting.

There are worse beers out there to be sure, but when you basically own the advertising world you can say literally everything...............

Budweiser Budvar Brewery

brewery in České Budějovice, Czechia

In Germany, the American Budweiser beer produced by Anheuser-Busch is not sold under the name “Budweiser” due to trademark rights held by the Czech brewery Budweiser Budvar.
Instead, it is marketed as “Bud” in Germany.

This restriction is part of a long-standing trademark dispute between Anheuser-Busch and Budweiser Budvar, where the Czech company holds exclusive rights to the “Budweiser” name in most of the European Union, including Germany.

Additionally, AB InBev had to navigate a special agreement with the German beer brand Bitburger, which further influenced the branding strategy in the country.

It seems they always get rain for that race, at least on some part of the track.

Seems Crofty sees only his screen, never even looks outside his booth. That’s a weakness.

Will ESPN renew or will it be a free-for-all in bidding rights?

Is he one of the 2 screaming Brit announcers? I have to mute those screechers all race long. Awful noise.

Yes. Annoying where if I’m doing anything I may mock Crofty screaming (IT’SLIGHTSOUTANDAWAYWEGOANDHAMILTON) is just . . .

Every motorsport it seems has become infested with the Crofty syndrome and some fans love it. I’m not.

The 1984 Dallas GP showed the difference. BBC’s Murray Walker vs CBS Sports with Ken Squier. F1 only plays the BBC feed of Mansell pushing but fans worldwide have found the NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee’s version far more intense with the description of what happened. You could feel with words what happened.

Then watch the Red Bull Soapbox show on Discovery. Compare the commentary of MRN’s Mike Bagley to the Channel 4 UK of Darren Fletcher (UEFA, MLB London Games). Fletcher screamed on everything while Bagley was counting and kept his cool.

“The body’s gone but the heart and the spirit are still there.” — Bagley.

Fletcher wouldn’t even touch Bagley with his type of commentary, but that’s just radio.

Shows what old school radio training versus modern screaming does.

You’re right.

Heh, I just saw a bit of the “Red Bull Soapbox show on Discovery”, a couple evening’s ago, while flipping channels. I could only watch a couple minutes of it, it was so crazy.

I remember the Pinewood Derby (Cub Scouts) and Soapbox Derby (Boy Scouts) in the late 50s/early 60s that I participated in, and the Red Bull stuff was like watching a bad Monty Python skit.

It is. Everyone cares about the British feed because they want to hear the man scream.
