100%?
Aft flaps got cooked, and they lost some debris from the aft engine skirt ....
probably more like 98%.
Which is EXCELLENT.

Seriously ... I won’t be surprised if test 11 or 12 achieves orbit. This one has to be a huge confidence boost.

I wonder why they didn’t catch the heavy booster?

yes because they stressed out the starship on purpose
made it through reentry and landing burn
and deployed 8 starlink simulators..

At some point they need to demonstrate a ship reentry that doesn’t burn pieces off the flaps. This has not happened yet.

They were testing landing, but at that distance they probably don’t have the ability to land it, so they just made sure it could get vertical and hover before dumping it.
The wild thing was watching reentry. Many people have never seen what it looks like.

It’s almost impossible unless they can find a material that can go from 5 kelvin to 5000 kelvin to 280 kelvin over a few minutes with no structural stress

It was amazing to watch them maintain attitude control given the damage to the rear flaps and restart all three engines.
SpaceX explicitly stated they were pushing the reentry angles beyond what would be expected for a normal reentry.

The Pez dispenser was the STAR OF THE DAY.. AWESOME !!!!
The plasma always gives me a chub. What caused the aft skirt to get damaged.. chunk of ice? More study required.
This flight reached all goals. More data = Next flight even better!
GREAT JOB TEAM SPACEX !!!!!

Unobtanium? If layered correctly, those tolerances are achievable.

I agree, but they need a technical breakthrough if there was that much damage. Amazing flight though. And they’ll be building 1000 a year soon.

That was such a joy to watch! Recorded most of it, have some awesome pics of parts of the aft flap burning and breaking off and STILL it was a successful flight!
And watching Starlink mock-up Satellites get dispensed from Starship like a pez dispenser was bloody awesome too!
