Recent comments by America’s Director of National Intelligence have reignited calls for the United States government to reveal what it knows about the UFO phenomenon.
Asked whether she had discovered anything relating to UFOs during a recent podcast with News Corp journalist Miranda Devine, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard provided a hint about her own views on the topic.
“Nothing that I'm prepared to talk about today… I'm just going to say this: yeah, we're continuing to look for the truth and share that truth with the American people,” she said.
Pressed on whether she thought aliens were responsible for the phenomenon, the senior US official said she had her “own views and opinions”, but was restricted in what she could say.
“In this role, I’ve got to be careful with what I share,” she said.
Speaking to Sky News Australia on Thursday, veteran investigative reporter Ross Coulthart told Sharri Markson there had been a “huge number” of US officials speaking out about the issue since the New York Times revealed in a 2017 cover story there was a secret UFO research program inside the Pentagon.
"Tulsi Gabbard is saying what a huge number of US officials have been saying for the past few years,” Coulthart told Sharri.
“There's a huge sea change happening in American executive government right now. They're suddenly waking up to the reality of UFOs.”
Coulthart said the senior officials who are “very interested in the phenomenon” included Vice President JD Vance.
...
“But I did an interview with Don Trump Jr late last year… he admitted to me that he is very interested in UAPs, and he's very engaged, and I get the impression so is his old man.”

Ben Rich quotes:
100% chance they’d come up with a conspiracy theory to cover it though...Such as “Bill Gates and Dr. Fauci created Marvin to destroy Earth with his Q36 Space Modulator”!
If this additional topic overwhelms your ability to process news, perhaps you should stay out of these threads.
I think all of those people will require psychological help in the near future.
His comments were more intelligent than VP Kamala Harris’s were.
“If Marvin the Martian came up and slapped Freepers in the face they wouldn’t believe in Martians.”
Charles Fort, of “Book of the Damned” fame, made a similar point. An obvious alien could go up to a person and introduce themselves and people still wouldn’t believe it.
:: perhaps you should stay out of these threads. ::
Ummm...wow.
Nothing like ‘friendly’ censorship on an open forum...right?
So, if I suggested YOU should go away and leave me alone, would you run, crying “censorship” to the mod?
Unless, of course, you are in charge around here.
Are you?
I had a career in aerospace much of it on classified programs. Never heard anything about UFOs, except….
My first mentor at the company was Dutch Ferrymam, a former WWII pilot. Said he saw the saucers several times.
Other old pilots reported the same.
I can guarantee that no nation on Earth had such technology in the 1940s.
We deserve the truth.
Lol “large number waking up to the fact that there are UNIDENTIFIED things out there somewhere”, unidentified does = alien spaceship, just means the evidence isn’t strong enough to identify something.
Extraordinary claims demand extraordinary proof
“Undientified does NOT = alien space ship” i meant to say (but in the spirit of fairness, it doesn’t NOT mean it either), just means “unknown”
That would be worthy of some reverence.
Nice opinion you got there.
Define "substance" in regards to the thread.
Is it that you simply want folks to agree with you?
John Ratcliffe (Former DNI, current CIA Dir.)
- In an October 2024 interview with Joe Rogan, Trump said: "There is a lot of interest in the people coming from space, you know."
- "I have to be honest, I have never been a believer … [But] I interviewed jet pilots that were solid people... they said we saw things sir that were very strange... going four times faster than an F‑22."
- Per ABC News (June 2025): “It's never been my thing. I have to be honest," he told Joe Rogan. "I have never been a believer.” But he also hinted at holding knowledge: “I won't talk to you about what I know about it but it's very interesting… Roswell's a very interesting place with a lot of people that would like to know what's going on.”
- From a UK media report (July 2025): Trump “said he would push the Pentagon to declassify the alleged UFO sighting videos… I have to do that.” He also admitted “there could be life on other planets.”
Tulsi Gabbard (Director of National Intelligence)
- In March 2021, on Fox News with Maria Bartiromo, Ratcliffe stated: “There are a lot more sightings than have been made public… objects seen by Navy or Air Force pilots, or picked up by satellite imagery… that engage in actions that are difficult to explain… traveling at speeds that exceed the sound barrier without a sonic boom.”
- He also remarked that: “UFOs display technology the U.S. doesn’t have and can’t defend against.”
Anna Paulina Luna (Rep. and chairwoman of the Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets, under the House Oversight Committee)
- From The Daily Beast (last week): Gabbard ‘hinted’ at extraterrestrial life, saying her office would share information “when the time comes.”
- Similarly reported in The Sun: She stated she believes in aliens and UFOs, and “vows to eventually ‘share the truth’ with the American public.”
- According to People.com (today): Luna recounted an Air Force base incident where a UAP entered restricted airspace and shook pilots. She said she believes some phenomena may be "interdimensional beings," and stressed the stigma military personnel face when reporting UAPs.
New York Post (yesterday) reports: She said credible reports point to technology "that defies known physics, possibly outside human creation."
Seems the newspaper journalist is smoking stuff again.
If you show me a Martian, I'll believe in Martians.
The problem is that's not the "evidence" we have. All we have are people saying they saw a light in the sky and from that they extrapolate it was a alien space craft. They're the ones who are so desperate to believe they'll believe anything.
Misidentifications. Pranks. Hoaxes. Con artists making a buck off gullible rubes.
Ridicule has been the weapon against disclose all along. That technique is used on pilots, policemen, virtually anyone who had experienced something unusual. The technique was employed by the government. Are you a government dis-information agent?
