Recent comments by America’s Director of National Intelligence have reignited calls for the United States government to reveal what it knows about the UFO phenomenon.
Asked whether she had discovered anything relating to UFOs during a recent podcast with News Corp journalist Miranda Devine, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard provided a hint about her own views on the topic.
“Nothing that I'm prepared to talk about today… I'm just going to say this: yeah, we're continuing to look for the truth and share that truth with the American people,” she said.
Pressed on whether she thought aliens were responsible for the phenomenon, the senior US official said she had her “own views and opinions”, but was restricted in what she could say.
“In this role, I’ve got to be careful with what I share,” she said.
Speaking to Sky News Australia on Thursday, veteran investigative reporter Ross Coulthart told Sharri Markson there had been a “huge number” of US officials speaking out about the issue since the New York Times revealed in a 2017 cover story there was a secret UFO research program inside the Pentagon.
"Tulsi Gabbard is saying what a huge number of US officials have been saying for the past few years,” Coulthart told Sharri.
“There's a huge sea change happening in American executive government right now. They're suddenly waking up to the reality of UFOs.”
Coulthart said the senior officials who are “very interested in the phenomenon” included Vice President JD Vance.

I believe UFOs exist. Even if 99% are hoaxes it still leaves questions for the 1%. I just don’t believe they are extraterrestrials.

Supposition, correlation, inferences, affidavits, fuzzy video, clearer video, pictures, cover-ups, etc... are all too weak arguments, in my opinion, to concretely answer the enormity of the question "Are we alone?"

A gardening day, I spoke to some life which is quite alien, in that it did not respond to my mower by crying in pain, nor to my loppers and clippers by wincing, nor by whistling back any coherent message when I mimicked a bird call to the cardinal. UAP/UFO’s exist, that is a given, or should I say the gubmint is telling us the are unidentified. I do not think that is true. I think they know exactly what they are and what their purpose is, they just refuse to tell us. I am sure other governments know what they are too.Seems to be a very well kept secret. Must be some super classified information for no one to let it slip out. Wasn’t it Gorbachev’s wife that made a statement with what to do about the aliens?
