Charles Fort, of “Book of the Damned” fame, made a similar point. An obvious alien could go up to a person and introduce themselves and people still wouldn’t believe it.
Extraordinary claims demand extraordinary proof
John Ratcliffe (Former DNI, current CIA Dir.)
- In an October 2024 interview with Joe Rogan, Trump said: "There is a lot of interest in the people coming from space, you know."
- "I have to be honest, I have never been a believer … [But] I interviewed jet pilots that were solid people... they said we saw things sir that were very strange... going four times faster than an F‑22."
- Per ABC News (June 2025): “It's never been my thing. I have to be honest," he told Joe Rogan. "I have never been a believer.” But he also hinted at holding knowledge: “I won't talk to you about what I know about it but it's very interesting… Roswell's a very interesting place with a lot of people that would like to know what's going on.”
- From a UK media report (July 2025): Trump “said he would push the Pentagon to declassify the alleged UFO sighting videos… I have to do that.” He also admitted “there could be life on other planets.”
Tulsi Gabbard (Director of National Intelligence)
- In March 2021, on Fox News with Maria Bartiromo, Ratcliffe stated: “There are a lot more sightings than have been made public… objects seen by Navy or Air Force pilots, or picked up by satellite imagery… that engage in actions that are difficult to explain… traveling at speeds that exceed the sound barrier without a sonic boom.”

- From The Daily Beast (last week): Gabbard ‘hinted’ at extraterrestrial life, saying her office would share information “when the time comes.”
- Similarly reported in The Sun: She stated she believes in aliens and UFOs, and “vows to eventually ‘share the truth’ with the American public.”
- According to People.com (today): Luna recounted an Air Force base incident where a UAP entered restricted airspace and shook pilots. She said she believes some phenomena may be "interdimensional beings," and stressed the stigma military personnel face when reporting UAPs.
New York Post (yesterday) reports: She said credible reports point to technology "that defies known physics, possibly outside human creation."
