Human Brains Rapidly Aged in The Pandemic, And It Wasn't Just The Virus
Science alert ^

The devastation of the COVID-19 pandemic may have left a significant mark on our brains, even if we didn't get sick.

Fatal cases of COVID-19 look scarily like old age in the brain, and now, new research suggests that the mental, social, and financial stresses of the pandemic may have aged our brains as well.

A team led by researchers at the University of Nottingham trained an AI model to recognize healthy aging in the brain, using the data of more than 15,000 adults in the UK Biobank.

The algorithm was then used to analyze the brain ages of two groups: one that had brain scans taken before the pandemic and another that had brain scans taken both before and during the pandemic.

During the pandemic, the average human brain aged five and a half months faster than it did before 2020.

My wife and I got into hiking in the great outdoors. We found it to be the best of times!

Nothing changed in my life. I went to work every day like I always have. The only thing different was having to wear a mask in certain places.

Those who normally drank with their friends at the neighborhood tavern, would drink at home during the lockdowns. Because of cost, they limited their drinks at the tavern. At home, they hit the bottle hard. Their drunkenness aged them hard.

It is reported that the distillers in this post-Covid era have experienced a drop in demand for distilled spirits. The drinkers are back in the taverns with more moderate drinking.

Trying to believe that viruses could jump 5 feet but not 6 made me feel dumber.
Or trying to believe that a paper mask clearly labeled: "Does not protect against Covid-19 or cold viruses" is as good as a hazmat suit.
Closing churches but not night clubs.
Pepper spraying a lone person on the beach. (What happened the 6 feet rule?)
A plexiglass shield in the supermarket protects me from the cashier that touches every single item that I touched and I will touch again.

Some people definitely got dumber, very quickly too.

It was the shot which they can never admit. It was devistating to the brain and body. Look at the people around you, they aged ten years overnight.

I think a lot of human brains were pretty poor samples to begin with. The complete lack of critical thinking by at least 65% of the population, who eagerly went along with and supported lockdowns, mask mandates, and mandatory “vaccinations” is strong evidence of that. Worthless, spineless, ignorant, dangerous fools, the lot of them.

Because then you would have had to enforce lockdowns and been a legitimate target.

And the term “men” in regard to the English is used very loosely. Boris and his entire administration should be hanging from lampposts by their broken necks for the lockdowns and not sinking the boats.

Thank you for posting something hopeful. That said, I can say that our collective response to the pandemic changed me, and not in a good way necessarily. It was chilling to see people turn on each other; on strangers, family members, co-workers, and friends. Our government went full authoritarian, and a mob mentality quickly emerged. It was as if all the dystopian novels I read as a youth suddenly merged into one nightmare over the course of a maybe a month or two. My view of humanity, and my community, was permanently altered. My faith in God deepened, but my faith in my fellow man nearly evaporated.
