there are 1000+ channels to watch, the government that is literally going broke doesn’t need to pay for another!
Most of the Sesame Street crowd are on their way to the old folks homes anyway. They’ve got their PBS tote bags packed and ready to go.
At the age of 56, Big Bird will finally have to support himself.
Trump killed BBBird!!!
Not sorry.
I didn’t let my kids watch it, started taking a social BS bend already back then.
If they want this thing to survive, they can advertise for sponsors, if they can’t get them, Darwin baby.
I am so glad to see PublicBS go. I’ve been waiting to see this propaganda outfit defunded for years. Good riddance, Big Bird!
I thought Sesame Street was its own thing and not funded by PBS at all? I recall reading that it makes money on its own and that PBS doesn’t even get first run showings of its episodes anymore. Which would mean it is unaffected by cuts to PBS?
VCRs? What millennium is this guy living in?
Thank God.
I always hated Sesame Street.
Note to the UK: This is how it’s done.
What in Hades are you waiting for?!
sniff. no more funding of Christiane Amanpour. sniff.sniff.
I do like Antiques Roadshow.
That’s about it.
Let’s not count the chickens before they hatch. The DC establishment may still find a way to keep the funding for these wastes of money going.
Congratulations once again John Thune and the whole GOP conference. It seems nice to be routinely saying that. Way to do your job. This helps take the spotlight off the other garbage too. Executive, Lesislative and Judicial wins. Starting to be a pretty formidable tag team!
PBS will survive, just not on the taxpayers’ dime.
I’ve never seen the Big Bird show in my life. Everybody is raving about it, so if it is so great, then some privately-owned network should jump at the chance to get it.
Your local PBS stations are constantly running telethons to support their programing and some have quasi commercials. If there are those who want the snooze feasts of PBS programming (the SNL skits aren’t far from the truth) or listen to wild propaganda programming let them pay. The latest ploy that PBS/NPR stations provide vital programming during emergencies and disasters is laughable. Stick a fork in Big Bird he is done.
