I thought Sesame Street was its own thing and not funded by PBS at all? I recall reading that it makes money on its own and that PBS doesn’t even get first run showings of its episodes anymore. Which would mean it is unaffected by cuts to PBS?
Maybe now, don't know, but they did start back in 1969. Did they ever give back that taxpayer funding back to the taxpayers? I doubt it and there is the famous Bill Clinton quote(paraphrasing), Republicans are trying to defund Big Bird.

Correct
SS is owned by a non profit. HBO/Max has had first run episodes for the last 10 years, Netflix just picked it up to do the same starting next year. PBS I assume pays to get the rerun viewing rights.
