Darwin award or foul play? I guess there is a reason for life vests.

...The man, unable to swim, jumped into the water to cool off... I think I see the problem.

I’ll not weigh in on this one.

He jumps in the water without knowing how to swim. She can not figure out how the boat works.
I would venture to say future reports will include the fact that one or both had been drinking.

You know, since my mother died and I’ve shed so many tears the world sometimes seems such a sad sad place.
Foolish or not, there’s tears to be shed.
I’m sorry for him and his loved ones.

Any neutral witnesses to back up that story?

Now imagine if the roles were reversed. People would be crucifying the guy for not being able to “work the boat”. And also crucifying him because, “how could he let her jump in not knowing how to swim?”
But no, this way we just get snark comments about the guy, nothing about the inept woman.

The man, unable to swim, jumped into the water. The man, unable to fly, jumped off the cliff.

I wonder if the police have noticed that this looks a lot like a Murder?

If the decedent’s life insurance policy could be determined then a better formulation could be made regarding this story. $$$$ Perhaps also a copy of any receipts from the liquor store prior to the outing would help.

Anything is possible, but sounds much more like a Darwin Award than criminal act to me.
