Kamala Harris’ Brother-In-Law Directed Billions To Democrat Aligned Groups: Report
Conservative Brief ^ | August 25, 2024 | Carmine Sabia

The brother-in-law of Vice President Kamala Harris appears to have engineered the greatest transfer of taxpayer dollars to left-wing groups in the history of the United States.

Tony West, who is the husband of Harris’ sister Maya, served as the head of the Justice Department’s Civil Division and awarded massive settlements to groups aligned with the Democrats, even when the Department of Justice appeared to be winning the cases, The New York Post reported.

“Until 1977, Congress had to approve any settlement of a civil suit against the Federal government over $100,000,” The Post reported.

But facing numerous cases the cap was removed and the DOJ was, in essence, given a blank check to pay anyone it wanted as much as it wanted from the a fund it created called “The Judgment Fund.”

The pool of money is shrouded in secrecy and the data that is does share does not include recipients, the facts of the cases and frequently even the attorneys involved in the cases.

West took over the department in 2009, when then-President Obama was in the White House, and that is when it got interesting, The Post reported, adding:

Once West arrived, his deputy emailed colleagues asking “can you explain to Tony the best way to allocate some money toward an organization of our choosing?”

Settlements became the vehicle for paying off political allies.

Has DOGE had a chance to take a look at this particular tool of extreme corruption? If not, then why has the DOJ remained silent?

This activity is unconscionable.

Just saw on the toob that Kamala Doodah has a 42% approval rating. When you’re a Marxist or commie, it doesn’t take much for you to impress Californians. Just keep the free handouts coming.

It never ceases to amaze me how these useless creeps siphon off such enormous amounts of money. They can’t make a buck doing a real job, so they rig the game at the expense of the taxpayer. No wonder they go nuts when conservative is elected.

...it doesn’t take much for you to impress Californians.

Those with real jobs are working too hard to pay attention, much less dig through the media cloud to get into depth on any issue.

**************

This raises a larger question: Has DOJ even invited/allowed DOGE to look into its own operations? I’m not aware that it has, but I could be wrong. DOJ as an institution has been become notoriously politicized by the Democrats and is therefore ripe for scrutiny and examination. You’d think that Bondi would be wanting DOGE to start digging right away to start the process of cleaning up the department.

Spot on post. The Dems see government as a tool for not only rewarding themselves and their friends but also as a weapon for punishing their enemies. That’s why its so important to downsize government at every opportunity.

Don't just catch individual rats.

The Democrats are a crime syndicate. Treat them accordingly as an organization.

One of Kamala’s requirements to be interviewed is that Tony West name never be mentioned or questioned.
She had plans for him to continue if she won.

The DoJ and the FBI do nothing but protect themselves. The entire DoJ and FBI need to be fired. Start with the three losers at the top. Blondi, Patel, and Bongino.

Isn’t Harmeet Dillon in charge of the civil rights dept of the DOJ? If so, she was just confirmed not long ago and likely is just dusvover8ng some if this stuff. Better question is why Sessions and Barr didn’t dis over it since it’s been happening since Obama.
