A meteorite, complete with shock wave, light trail, and flight noises (rumbles, light a train or close airplane) struck the ground northeast of Atlanta this afternoon, 26 June 2025.
Impact was visible from dash cameras in vehicles on I85 near the South Carolina border.
Meteor is any solid object hitting the atmosphere but burning up before it hits the ground. A meteorite is a rocky solid that survives its flight through the atmosphere and hits the ground as a solid.
Damage is unknown, some reports claim a house was struck.

I actually heard a meteorite once. I thought it was just noisy neighbors. In the early morning the smoke trail was still lingering in the sky.
My funny story. At night on the freeway, suddenly the area got lighter. A blazing bright orb was overhead and everyone slowed down and practically stopped to get a better look overhead. It seemed to break up or give off smaller bright orbs in a straight row. I had the feeling everyone was thinking alike and all watching-—one of those mystical times when you feel what others are thinking.
Then it went dark.
I am convinced it was a bolloid or similar. Straight line movement.
I could never tell a UFO place my report, or anyone else.
Q: Where were you heading?
A: The regional science fiction convention at the airport hotel.
Q: Oh, I see.
In the morning I looked for the printed newspapers to say “bolloid streaks across, seen by hundreds.”
No. Both reported UFOs were seen in several areas. Not acting like mine in a straight line, either.
Weird.
Did anyone get superpowers from it yet?

It’s sad that they felt compelled to define what a meteor is, there was a time they taught children that in school. I guess the left can’t figure out how to woke gender a meteor so they just don’t teach children about them.
I thought it was a meteor when it was in space. Once it hits the atmosphere, it becomes a meteorite.
When did that change?
It’s even sadder that they got the definition of meteor wrong.
I was with some friends stargazing, in the late 80s. We were at a local forest preserve and had just finished setting up our telescopes, when a fireball lit up the sky like daytime in an eerie green glow for about 5 seconds. Haven’t seen anything like that since.
Yep, pretty try cool huh? Once in a lifetime for most. If I hadn’t been a smoker at the time, Ida likely not seen it. I thank smoking for the view lol j/k. The one I saw wasn’t green, more a bright white light. The treetops all lit up as it passed, turning night into day briefly.
It’s weird how the left can recognize 80 genders, identifying them all with stunning details, but they can’t recognize an illegal alien when they see one.

It WAS cool, and I haven’t seen anything like it since! It left a smoke trail against the Milky Way backdrop that lasted for about 20 minutes. It went straight East to West and we all had a good look at it. Stargazing seemed so… boring after that, lol.

Someone: “hey check out the meteor shower! Tons of shooting stars”
Us: “meh, it’s ok- but lemme tell yah about a fireball I saw once...” lol
