What were all the sirens about Thursday night in Destin?

Hubby and I took a helicopter tour in Maui some 30 years ago. It was really cool! I was a little scared, but ok, too.
“You got something against aircraft made of Papier-mâché?”
Ha! My career was in aviation maintenance for 37 years.....I promise you my friend.....I could tell you stories that would make your hair stand on end. 😏
I’m not quite sure what would be so cool about a helicopter flight in Destin.
Most annoying beach helicopter on the Gulf. Bar none.
Landing safely....................
We took the helicopter tour on the Big Island a few years back and it was spectacular - me, husband and elderly parents. Got to see the lava so we were all very happy.
I raved about it on our next trip and wanted to take the young people - not a one of them would go.
We got to see Haleakala and some beautiful waterfalls. The waterfalls were really cool. Got very close to them but not too close. I loved hovering. There was a pretty large road that had been closed at the time, or nearly closed, with just a few off road vehicles using it. That was neat to see too.
If I have the chance to do something like that again, with unusual views, I’d probably do it. Destin wouldn’t be a place that I’d consider.
I can only image being a tourist in a local hotel listening to that things fly over time and time again.
Happy ending! Gladj your dad made it!
Definitely not!
But apparently the helicopter tour of Vegas is really nice - at night - also the one of New York sounds great, but I think they’ve all been canceled now after the crash.
Hoping to get back to Hawaii ASAP - my nephew is stationed there and we want to visit before he is deployed somewhere else.
Thanks. I always found it interesting that he never told me that story until I was an adult.
I imagine Vegas is pretty neat at night. NYC would be cool, too, but yeah, safety first!
I flew in one down there over 20 years ago. The one I was in looked like the helicopters in M*A*SH*
Probably looking at the mountains. Some are 3 or 4 feet high.
LOL.
I’d rather go para-sailing.
