That’s funny enough for me to almost want the coffee.
True enough....I don’t post much, but when I see it’s someone who I normally trust (Scott Adams) then I don’t do any stone turning to make sure it’s true.
This time he seems to be wrong, thus I shouldn’t have posted. I’m going back to not bothering to post anything unless I’ve done a deep dive on its validity.....which is rarely lol.
Went fishn at Chelan yesterday. Coming home we saw about 100 No Kings protesters, all well to do yuppy looking in this tourist town. I hear they were much more aggressive on the dark side, wet side, western washington. Who woulda thunk!
“... when I see it’s someone who I normally trust (Scott Adams)”
I try to stay away from Tictoc. Not just because they are Chinese owned, but because a LOT of people using it trick you into thinking something is real when it is not.

A lazy bike ride to scout out the best angles for photos, and a shooting, because it’s DC.

Some interesting tidbits in the beginning.
Um.....
That’s a “no” from me!
I have never voted down her fashion choices before
but those pants are truly awful!
I’m going back to not bothering to post anything’
Please don’t go silent, Judy!
You are so clever, and so funny, too!
We love you, and we do NOT want to be without you!
Just let heavy criticism roll off you back!
C’mon people!
Let’s stick together!
Oh Ms. B. I didn’t want to give the impression I wasn’t going to be on here. I just won’t post anything that I haven’t checked to be 100% verifiably true. I often see something in my X travels, and it sounds reasonable to me, and when it’s someone I normally trust, I think to myself that I’ll share it with the thread. They might like to see this. But then I get fact-checked, and even though it’s nothing particularly earth-shattering that I’ve posted, it still makes me feel like I screwed up by not doing a deep dig to its validity before posting.
I guess when you’re up 3 times a night and come across something interesting, it’s best to just leave it lol. Don’t you worry, young lady. You can’t get rid of me that easily!
Pleas wish your sweet hubby a Happy Fathers day from Mr.B and I!
*HUG*
“Just let heavy criticism roll off you back!”
Oh dear LORD!
If showing something may not be true and is considered criticism, then I too shall quit posting. :-(
Ok ladies. I see both sides here.
Ms.B., thanks for your kind words. I know what you’re saying, but I don’t consider it criticism. I do, however, sometimes feel like anything I post is under scrutiny, and will stop posting some interesting tidbits I find. For instance, should I post this little item I just saw?
https://x.com/EndWokeness/status/1934317986401378479
Spunky, should I be posting this without doing a deep dive into all of these stats? They’re interesting, and I can see them being true, but I don’t know for sure.....and I’m not about to go searching to find out. Should I avoid posting such things?
I don’t bother fact-checking the posts of others unless I am suspicious that they’re passing on false information, intentionally or not. If I know something posted is not true, that’s when I’ll double check and post a correction.
I don’t know your M.O. Do you automatically fact check everything posted? There’s nothing wrong with that....I’ll just post only what I am sure will pass.
So, the above information about dads.....is that something that needs to be verified before posting?
THESE ARE ACTUAL COMPLAINTS RECEIVED BY “THOMAS COOK VACATIONS” FROM DISSATISFIED CUSTOMERS:
1. “They should not allow topless sunbathing on the beach. It was very distracting for my husband who just wanted to relax.”
2. “On my holiday to Goa in India, I was disgusted to find that almost every restaurant served curry. I don’t like spicy food.”
3. “We went on holiday to Spain and had a problem with the taxi drivers as they were all Spanish.”
4. “We booked an excursion to a water park but no-one told us we had to bring our own swimsuits and towels. We assumed it would be included in the price.”
5. “The beach was too sandy. We had to clean everything when we returned to our room.”
6. “We found the sand was not like the sand in the brochure. Your brochure shows the sand as white but it was more yellow.”
7. “It’s lazy of the local shopkeepers in Puerto Vallartato close in the afternoons. I often needed to buy things during ‘siesta’ time — this should be banned.”
8. “No-one told us there would be fish in the water. The children were scared.”
9. “Although the brochure said that there was a fully equipped kitchen, there was no egg-slicer in the drawers.”
10. “I think it should be explained in the brochure that the local convenience store does not sell proper biscuits like custard creams or ginger nuts.”
11. “The roads were uneven and bumpy, so we could not read the local guide book during the bus ride to the resort. Because of this, we were unaware of many things that would have made our holiday more fun.”
12. “It took us nine hours to fly home from Jamaica to England. It took the Americans only three hours to get home. This seems unfair.”
13. “I compared the size of our one-bedroom suite to our friends’ three-bedroom and ours was significantly smaller.”
14. “The brochure stated: ‘No hairdressers at the resort.’ We’re trainee hairdressers and we think they knew and made us wait longer for service.”
15. “When we were in Spain, there were too many Spanish people there. The receptionist spoke Spanish, the food was Spanish. No one told us that there would be so many foreigners.”
16. “We had to line up outside to catch the boat and there was no air-conditioning.”
17. “It is your duty as a tour operator to advise us of noisy or unruly guests before we travel.”
18. “I was bitten by a mosquito. The brochure did not mention mosquitoes.”
19. “My fiancée and I requested twin-beds when we booked, but instead we were placed in a room with a king bed. We now hold you responsible and want to be re-reimbursed for the fact that I became pregnant. This would not have happened if you had put us in the room that we booked.”
They certainly rang true for me as well. Up here in our extended family, we have good dads, really horrible, nasty dads, and mediocre dads. The kids all reflect which dads they have....except for a couple who have made their Father in Heaven their real dad. It made up for horrible and mediocre, by a great measure.
Talk about snotty!
When some of them come up here to Their “summer cottages”
they treat the local folks like trash.
They can be REALLY nasty.
Please note that I said “some” of them.
All - shhh not too loud. My night owl son is still asleep😜. He was still up at 6 when I woke and started my day. Now I’m ready for some snoozing-AKA - Power Nap
Yesterday gleaned much joy from watching the 250 Celebrations. On front deck with drizzle and garbage bag on head to protect my phone.
Later - probably 7 ish will do a rib eye and smashed (not to be confused with mashed) potatoes . My sons Fathers Day . His daughter at beach and son dead 2 years. This isn’t a good holiday for him
I’ve been cooking a lot! And playing in dirt a lot ( 2 hours earlier)
Poor Jeff. It must be a terrible day for him. I hope he will at least see his daughter at some point.
In a way, I feel sorry for Hunter.
I can only imagine what is was like to have The Bidens for parents.
Maybe he heard Dad bragging about Beau Biden ALL of the time,
and just gave up working..
Hr probably learned all that nasty sex from Biden Sr.
(swimming naked in front of female agents, and so on.)
Yeesh!
