Donald Trump: Vladimir, STOP!
mediaite ^ | April 24 | Donald J. Trump

Posted on 04/24/2025 7:30:15 AM PDT by RandFan

In a Thursday morning social media post, Trump wrote, “I am not happy with the Russian strikes on KYIV. Not necessary, and very bad timing. Vladimir, STOP! 5000 soldiers a week are dying. Lets get the Peace Deal DONE!”

Trump had pledged to end the Russian invasion of Ukraine within 24 hours of being elected, but he and his diplomatic team have thus far found it difficult to broker a peace agreement with Russia and Ukraine, going so far as to suggest they will give up any efforts recently.

What Trump should do is announce a plan to start expropriating all imports/exports of funds, products, and services with all direct and indirect trading partners of Russia + Russia to be put in trust to fairly compensate the claims of damage/loss/suffering by victims of his Special Military Operation against Ukraine

Why on Earth would Trump or any legitimate US leader even think about doing such a thing?

You’re describing the future. Russia’s oil runs out last.

Ours runs out before theirs.

We starve without it because food can’t move to shelves and mouths. We beg. They agree to feed us, in return for total subjugation.

That’s what losing a war is. And it’s inevitable. Geology decides this. Nothing else.

In the world of oil scarcity, you don’t want to bomb and kill your enemy. You want them alive, consuming oil so that the day of starvation arrives sooner. Starvation is the whole populace. Not merely those in the blast radius.

It's proving more tricky than I thought to end this costly War.

There are forces behind it that are making it difficult. From Congress to the EU, Zelensky, Putin and others. Truthfully, if the US just completely stepped out of the picture - entirely - no guidance, no weapons, no $$$, Ukraine would lose fairly quickly. If the EU stepped in, they might last a couple more months. If the US remains involved at current levels, it will grind out for several years before the inevitable, and no one wants that. I know I sure don't, because Trump is right, the number of deaths and amount of destruction is already way too high, and with continued US involvement, the deaths will continue with the very real possibility of US Soldier deaths.

At the end of the day, however, anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together can see what will eventually happen. There are really only two ways this war ends: 1. The US backs out completely and Putin rolls over all of Ukraine, or 2. Zelenskyy submits and cedes UKE lands already under Russian control while maintaining an independent Ukraine with US/EU support.

No one has to like these facts, but they are pretty much indisputable.

Trump is the best we have. But he is missing something. There are actual issues that Russia cares about that cannot be addressed with personality, orders to stop, etc.

It really was a red line. No NATO in Ukraine, no neo-nazi Banderist ethnic cleansing, and stop the encirclement.

We are offering no end to the sanctions, and in a nutshell our solution is a frozen conflict with a NATO peacekeeping force flooding Ukraine with soldiers, weapons, jets, no fly-zones etc. Sure, we say it’s not NATO, but it’ll be a force of Brits, French, Germans, Poles etc.

Pretty much our solution is for them to stop when they are winning, and let our Ukes regroup and get reinforced by European armies. Then behind this protective force, the Banderists can do as they please. They will keep up the terror bombings in Russia, assassinations, sabotage of oil facilities, etc... knowing Russia cannot respond without hitting Brits or French “non-Nato” troops that are thoroughly mixed in with the Ukes.

Time to walk away and drop this tar-baby. America has zero national interest in Ukraine.

“But if Putin refuses Trump’s hand, more and more Americans will come around in thinking that we’ll have to deal with Russia.”

Are you suggesting we will literally have to go to war with Russia? Hard to imagine Americans would be into that idea.

Oh contraire. Kiev is exactly where they should strike. Zelinsky’s offices, government offices, SBU HQ, Zelinsky’s house.

Bring it home and let them get afraid. Why would Kiev be special, and shouldn’t be targeted?

No, not every invasions is a US interest. This is a mainstay of normal US policy. When the Brits had their Suez crisis, Ike kept us out. When Argentina captured the Falklands, we stayed out of it.

If every border crossing invasion on earth is a US interest for some nebulous emotional “no man is an island” thinking, that means every single war on earth involves us.

And you say Russia intends to invade the Baltics and Europe? There is not the slightest evidence of that. The Russian Army is 10% of the size it was in the Fulda Gap days.
That is just pure neocon thinking and more “dominos” bullcrap.

This is a defensive war on their part. NATO charged up to their border 1000 miles to the east. We were far more angry about Russians bombing our ISIS rebels than anything else in Syria and we engaged in chest bumping in the air and on the ground, even killing a few hundred. Can anyone imagine the apoplexy here if Russians bombed a Blackwater site and killed 300? We were sailing warships three miles off of Sevastopol, claiming Kiev gave us permission. In the year before the war we tried failed color revolutions in Kazakhstan, and Belarus.
We threw a successful one in Kiev that brought the Banderists to power.

So dispense with the trite fable that this is dominos again, and that Russia wants to conquer Europe, and that we are some kind of white knights making the world safe for democracy.
This war is a raw globalist power grab and about money, corruption and nothing else.

This is a defensive war on their part...pure and simple.

The problem is that Putin learned the lesson of Munich, especially after the Minsk II fraud. You cannot deal with an aggressive expansionist power if you are unwilling to fight to enforce your legitimate interests.

NATO and the DC/London axis had no intent to stop. We even had a stated goal of overthrowing his government as we did the one in Kiev. Hillary even directly attempted it in 2011 in Moscow.

And no, there is no problem worse than being the biggest debtor in all of human history. That is what people care about today, their own lives. Not some silly game of “Risk” DC wants to play. Though the MIC and Neocons hate it, none of their schemes do anything good for America.

The interventions in Somalia gave us Minnesota run by the Skinnies and a couple of moslem congressmen. Same in Afghanistan and the flood of refugees. El Salvador gave us MS-13. Same in Iraq, Syria, “Palestine”, and now Ukraine. Our idiotic attack on Libya resulted in the flood into the EU. Our ISIS tool destroyed Syria and sent millions into Europe. Now I can’t enjoy Germany at Christmas without glaring moslems everywhere or a vehicle ramming attack.

Every single time we play with a foreign turd, we get crap on our fingers in the form of migrants, refugees and terror.

The schemes of DC and London bring nothing good to the American people and do nothing to improve our lives.

Reagan supported Thatcher in the Faulklands...

No, some matter more than others. This is Europe, not some south pacific group of islands or $h1thole in Africa. We have historical and economic ties to Europe, and at one time more so than now, heritage and common enemies.

pure neocon thinking and more “dominos” bullcrap

No, its caution based on Russian (Putins) own behavior for decades.

The remainder of your post is leftist prop and talking points. The US occasionally sailing in the Black Sea is no more threatening than Russian ships in Cuba. And you are defending Russian mercs in Syria defending ISIS while ISIS was attacking US forces? You disappoint.

No, I’m not thinking of the future. I’m not even thinking of Russia or Ukraine or for that matter even the USA. History is written by the winners. When you completely lose a war to the point of national extinction, you budget deficits no longer matter.

So I just disagree when you say the worst thing for a country is a budget deficit.

“Well, the problem is that 2 and 3 leave Ukraine in the position of a sheep to be slaughtered and 4 is just plain cuckoo.”

One could have said the same regarding Finland...yet they were NEVER attacked, free, and PROSPERED for 80 years. It’s not a bad deal...considering the alternative, which Finland also faced.

For #4, we did just that at the end of WW2, and did it quite effectively.

Russia wants this war CONCLUDED, and following the Finland model during WW2, which includes the following:
1. Internationally recognized border changes
2. Ukrainian neutrality - no NATO, no foreign troops
3. Strong limits on the size and composition of Ukraine’s military and its weapons.
4. De-Nazification

Even if Ukraine were to concede on the first two points, it could never on the last two. Limitations on its military would leave it defenseless against further Russian attacks. "De-Nazification" is code for elimination of Ukrainian nationalism, reducing Ukraine to an appendage of Russian culture. And it was these demands, not Boris Johnson, that prevented a deal in Istanbul. They are demands for total surrender. With such demands Ukraine will keep fighting, even if Zelensky were removed.
