A Texas politician was stabbed and her husband was killed after their grandson allegedly attacked them at their Lewisville home early Monday morning.
Republican Denton County Commissioner Bobbie Mitchell, 76, and her husband were stabbed early Monday morning by their grandson, according to police. Fred Mitchell, Bobbie Mitchell's husband, was pronounced dead just after 5 a.m. Bobbie Mitchell was taken to a local hospital and is expected to survive her injuries.
The Lewisville Police Department said on Facebook that the double stabbing happened on Monday at 3:53 a.m. Mitchell Blake Reinacher, the couple's 23-year-old grandson, was arrested at the house and is charged with murder and aggravated assault.
Denton County is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area. Mitchell was the first Black mayor of Lewisville when she was elected in 1993.
She was mayor of Lewisville until she resigned in 2000, when she ran for Denton County commissioner for Precinct 3, which is her current position.
Bobbie Mitchell has two children and nine grandchildren, according to the Denton County government. Reinacher is listed as one of Mitchell's grandsons.

I almost wonder if it was their politics. Many people are so wedded to one side or the other, and for younger people it can be a source of extreme hatred especially if they believe the BS rhetoric. This is what the Democrats have fomented, and then they try to lay the blame for the violence as being our fault. I have a friend whose son absolutely hates him to the core because he supports Trump.
But you are correct, it could be all about a drug addiction. He looks like a possible druggy.

Yeah, it’s a shame, and the problem may not even be the fault of either parent. Some times the child is just compromised in some form or fashion that had nothing to do with how they were raised.

My brother in law isn’t as bad as his son, but only because my in laws, my wife and her older brother kept things together. Her younger brother was a real problem. He’s living in free housing otherwise he’d be homeless, too. Drinking and smoking since he was 13. He’s now in his late 60s. He still drinks and smokes. Not to make fun of him, because it’s tragic- but he almost looks like something out of a horror movie. I don’t know how he’s still alive, and his son is worse.
My wife doesn’t understand what happened- her brother has a bucketful of bad genes, and he passed them on to his son.

Hard to tell, but alcohol certainly didn't help him. It has been known for its destructive attributes for decades before I, and most likely yourself as well, were born. The daughter saw the perils, while the son followed his father down the drain of overindulgence of alcohol. I kind of went down that road until I began to realize that it was not benefiting me at all. I was falling into it because my friends were indulging. The difference was, they knew how to imbibe, while not going to extremes, whereas, I had no self-control. So, I finally realized that I could not control alcohol.
Unfortunately I switched from alcohol to drugs. But at least, pot did not affect me in ways that alcohol did. Y tried them all, but decided I would never allow myself to become dependent upon them. I eventually turned away from all mind altering substances. 🙂👍

Good for you. I never smoked cigarettes, but for a few years I was into cigars, the premium hand rolled expensive ones. I finally quit those. I was a moderate drinker, but had to give that up because of my liver. A transplant fixed me up, but my immune system isn’t done with me. Ulcerative Colitis (31 years) and Sarcoidosis-what destroyed my liver-are still with me. Meds keep me from drinking anymore. A small price to pay.
Be Well

Another black Texas stabber?
This being a black on black murder and stabbing, as well as family members, it shan't make much news anywhere.

I smoked for 50 years, a small cancer was discovered. It required that my top lobe of my right lung to be removed. But am cancer free for perhaps 7 years now. I no longer smoke. My wife followed me a couple years later, only the left lung, and she is no longer a smoker either.
Interestingly enough, I occasionally get the urge for a cigarette but it quickly passes. 🙂👍

They look and appear to to be wonderful people.
It’s their kids you got to be worried about.
It’s the reason why we are planning to move soon...
