Bill Murry was fabulous in that movie. Loved it..
What About Bob?
To: tired&retired
Although he has done many... I consider What About Bob? and Groundhog Day to be Bill Murray’s best movies.

Eliminate bread and sugar, the carbs in your diet and you will lose weight.
Eat a low fat diet and you will never lose the weight.

Exactly, eat more meat and cheese and stop sugars and bread and you will lose weight and be happier.

I skipped What About Bob when it first came out due to Richard Dreyfus being in it. I was tired of Bill Murray too.
Later caught it on cable one night and it was funny.
A lot of people hate on Quick Change (1990), but I found it quite funny myself.

I stuck to this program for a lot longer than this study, and I can attest to the fact that this really works, just like they say.
Here's my "before" and "after" pictures.

A very low-calorie ketogenic diet (VLCKD) is characterized by low daily caloric intake (less than 800 kcal/day), low carbohydrate intake (<50 g/day) and normoproteic (1–1.5 g of protein/kg of ideal body weight) contents.

Your VLCKD sounds like a protein-sparing modified fast...

I think they are pretty much the same thing. Maybe the researchers didn’t want to use the word “fast” or “fasting”.

Meat, eggs, cheese, nuts, green vegetables, strawberries, blueberries
If you do strenuous labor or regular intensive exercise, carb up on the weekends. Pizza or whatever.

This study was conducted on people who were obese to begin with. Probably any kind of diet would improve their longevity.

No matter what diet diet...weight goes up and down and it’s all about calories and exercise.
To: Sacajaweau
I don’t believe that. People have different endocrine systems and metabolisms. Some are much more sensitive to carbohydrates and process them very differently than others do. (We all know people who can eat whatever they want and remain rail thin; and others who gain weight very easily.)
Another benefit of the low-carb/keto diets is that after a while, they suppress appetite; they seem to do this by their action on insulin resistance.

Dreyfus can be annoying but he was superb in Jaws.

My wife uses a Mac. I use Windows. My first computer was a 1984 Mac. There was a lot of difference then, not so much now.
