Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Ukraine could be placed under a “temporary administration” as part of a peace process that could include help from North Korea and other Moscow allies, according to Russian state media.
Speaking to a group of servicemen in Russia’s northern port of Murmansk, Putin laid out several provisions for a peace process to end the three-year war launched by Moscow in February 2022, according to Russia’s state news agency, TASS.
Among Putin’s many suggestions was a call for new elections in Ukraine and the “signing of key accords” once the country is under international administration, TASS said.
“In principle, of course, a temporary administration could be introduced in Ukraine under the auspices of the UN, the United States, European countries and our partners,” Putin was quoted as saying.

Putin also said other countries should be involved in the peace process beyond the US and Russia, including Moscow’s treaty ally Pyongyang.
“This is not only the United States but also the People’s Republic of China, India, Brazil, South Africa, all BRICS countries,” Putin said.
“And many others, for example, including the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea,” he said, using North Korea’s official name.

An acceptable to Russia offer must include what will be Russian minimums:
1. a neutral Ukraine
2. no foreign forces in Ukrainian-held territory
3. no long-range missiles in Ukraine
4. no nuclear weapons or nuclear weapons technology development by Ukraine
5. Russia, Russian companies and individuals to get their assets (plus a fair return on financial assets) back on a schedule
6. the Russian language to be an official language of Ukraine
7. Russian ethnics and Russian speakers in Ukraine to have Ukrainian legal protection as great as the anti-discrimination protections extended to negroes by the domestic governments of the USA and fully equal Ukraine treaty civilian rights
Ukraine should be given a means of getting its territory back:
Ukraine may schedule and the EU shall conduct plebiscites in the next ten years in areas of Ukraine that were officially part of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic but are now under Russian control at the times of Ukrainian or Russian Federation national elections provided these areas are directly adjacent to the Ukrainian front lines as noted in this agreement and a Russian-held area that was officially part of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic would not lose paved road access as a result. This clause shall not be operative in an area if partisan activity has been a problem for the Russian Federation in the area in the prior five years.
Why not put Russia under international administration?
“once the country is under international administration”
Z and the Duma won’t go along with that.
Pooty stacking the deck?
Yet more evidence that The Zelensky has completely failed.
Kim is happy—that’s what he wanted all along, a seat at the table in the Axis. Russia, Iran, China and now North Korea. This is a bone to North Korea. What does that mean for us? IF there is a war—we will have to fight North Korea. That will change the dynamics of any war plans. Yes, North Korea is a little nation but it has nukes and can hit South Korea and Japan. The Japanese are paranoid (for good reason) about nukes. We can’t count on their help if war comes.
I suppose a good negotiating strategy is to start by asking for the moon. And that list is Russia asking for the moon.
And what does Ukraine get in return? The promise of a plebiscite within 10 years. Russia will certainly rig that plebiscite. And no particular disrespect meant to Russia there. Rigged voting is common in that region. (And in our own Democrat-run states as well.)
It’s a real mess. If anyone can sort this out, it would be Donald Trump.
Disclaimer: I have no dog in this fight. Because there are no good guys here. It’s a WW1 kind of thing. Arrogant leaders on both sides doing stupid things, and getting many, many people killed.
I don’t think you guys understand what this is all about.
This is planted a Trump. Putin is making the case for willingness to be innovative in trying to stop The killing, and this most assuredly will strike a resonant chord in Trump.
Putin, and pretty much everyone else, knows the debt situation in the United States. And they know that Trump is focused on it with the one October date fast approaching and the inevitability of ongoing CR’s that absolutely will prevent any Trump agenda from asserting itself. The point being that Trump knows he must improve the finances, and every penny going to Ukraine does not do that.
That’s the Putin perspective, and that is in fact the path to shutting off any further non-humanitarian aid from Trump to Zelensky.
Voice to text. It is pointed at Trump.
“In principle, of course, a temporary administration could be introduced in Ukraine under the auspices of the UN, the United States, European countries and our partners,” Putin was quoted as saying.”
Power sharing has historically been shown to be the first step towards a takeover by communists.
“Putin also said other countries should be involved in the peace process beyond the US and Russia, including Moscow’s treaty ally Pyongyang.”
And this:
“This is not only the United States but also the People’s Republic of China, India, Brazil, South Africa, all BRICS countries,” Putin said”
Nothing like stacking the peace process with Russian allies.
Show US how its done chin.
Putin peeved that the talks in Saudi were supposed to be between the US and Russia. Talks between US and Russia lasted 12 hours.
Then Ukraine showed up unbeknownst to him. Talks lasted one hour. LOL
He thinks that US invited Ukes. I imagine this comment was a response to that.
It makes no sense to include other than the main real combatants: Russia, the Ukraine, and the USA. The more parties, the more difficult the negotiation.
You know you’re really in for it when your country’s name includes “Democratic”, “People’s”, AND “Republic”.
Um, because Russia has a functioning democratic government, and they are decisively winning the war? Ukraine is the undemocratic basket case that insists on increasing its demands the worse its situation gets.
