“ If you rush a guy who’s already drawn down on you... you chose your fate.”

He chose poorly.

100% justified. No one owes it to anyone else to fight them.

It’s hard to know entirely.
The dude without the gun should not have charged the man with a gun. That was just stupid on his part. Was he drunk or on drugs? Did he say something very provocative or threaten deadly force? He took off his sweater, which is what someone would do when they intend to get into a serious physical conflict (the fighter doesn’t want his own clothing to be used against him by pulling, throwing, choking etc). It’s a provocative move and we don’t know what he said.

The man with the gun, was he physically impaired in some way? Something that made it difficult to escape the situation without force? A bad leg or bad heart or bad eyesight even? Does he know the man and/or his reputation and have reason to believe he would sustain serious or even deadly injury if he got into a scrap?

I guess you’re asking us to make a moral decision when it’s a legal decision too. What are the laws in his state?

The victim was not legally obligated to, “Fight like a man”. That’s fantasy bull shit. The aggressor was to too stupid to understand that and paid a big price.

The victim also had a restraining order on the dimwitted aggressor due to his drug and mental history.

You have to make every attempt to escape the danger. He did not.

I assume Robbie means the daft punk that got shot did not make any or even every attempt to escape.

Unknown preceding actions...............

See the video in post 8. It explains everything in great detail. Also shows the cops and the courts found this shooting to be justified.

I assume you mean the pussy was the man with a knife who had 50 pounds on the victim.

God forgive me, but I keep replaying the part where the attacker screams like a little bitch after getting shot.

There’s something perversely satisfying in watching that.

Justified.

He even retreated some. Had he tried to run away the guy with the knife could

have stabbed the smaller guy in the back. You don’t run away backwards because

you can trip yourself or fall over something and your goose is cooked.

Somebody dragged their feet with the restraining order.

Doesn’t, after if people think he “could have fled indoors”- he had no obligation ok do so. The stand your ground law means that a person does not have to be a victim or run for their lives, and perps who ignore stand your ground laws do so to their own Peril due to stupidity.

IF a person doesn’t want to get shot, then don’t be an ass and threaten someone because that lerson has a right to use deadly force to stop a threat to their life- it’s not a hard concept to learn- as mentioned, more people die from bare knuckles from enraged lunatics than from guns- plus the fact that the ,anger fella was armed- the shooter didn’t have to stand around and hope the fella didn’t use the knife! He warned the fella but the fella was too ignorant to realize the seriousness of his aggression in the situation. There is no reason why the shooter had to guess and hope to be right concerning the visible knife.

The presence of the knife certainly escalated the whole situation to one where deadly force was justified- doesnt matter if the dead guy “intended to use it” or not- the shkkter cant know the person’s mindset BUT CAN assume he meant to use it given the aggression and presence of the knife. If he didn’t intend to use it, he should have thrown it to the side especially when the gun was produced. He made a very very poor choice a d paid for it with his life- don’t bring a knife to a gun fight- pretty simple.

I don’t think it matters if they knew each other. One was presenting himself as a threat and could have leapt towards the shooter at any time.

It looks justified to me.

If he was threatening, and had a visible knife, shoot to incapacity is justified inside 20 feet, imo

Well...it could matter. The shooter knows if it’s a random attack, or, as it turned out, someone he’s filed a no-contact order on, who has been laying in wait to attack him. That right there is cause to shoot him when he did, maybe sooner. . He may have thought he could reason with the guy...apparently he didn’t want to shoot him..I agree thst it was justified...but, who knows about his local prosecutor? He may have even been playing for the cameras, a bit.

The shooter had no duty to retreat. He backed up repeatedly and tried to give the lunatic a chance to not get shot. The lunatic just refused though and INSISTED on getting his dumb ass shot. So he was left to scream and wail like a bitch after catching some lead. Completely justified shoot. The shooter didn’t even need to back up in order to be justified to shoot.
